Rochester is a 70 min drive from Ontario, and a 5 hour drive to NYC. Upstate NY is far closer to Ontario, so this is by far the closest local scene forum. Moreover, some people like to keep up to date with happenings in the places (Toronto) where they go to party.

I go to Rochester all the time for work, is there even anything fun to do there?!
But back to Charlie Sheen...

Bahahaha, yeah but how many prescription pills does he have to take to control his blood pressure and/or heart function? I bet you any money he'll die of heart failure.
I'm not just stating an opinion, the fact IS that regular cocaine use leads to heart problems. I mean, I can break down exactly how it affects cardiac function and what it does to coronary arteries, how it puts regular users at risk of stroke, etc..but that's just way too Debbie Downer. :o :p |

Oh yeah I'm not debating that at all. I was just saying that it's possible that someone with a high enough tolerance could do that much in one sitting and have their heart not explode. |

It really varies. There's been a lot of more edm-oriented clubs opening here very recently. There's a club called One which plays mostly house on Saturdays (although quite often it's top-40 laden house). Tilt also has some good DJs who play there, but is also a gay club on some nights, not really sure which. Tilt is where I saw Simon Patterson when he came to Rochester.
During the day there's tons of museums in the area, and there's no shortage of very very nice restaurants.
Probably if you're going to be here for a weekend, the area with the most things going on is on the corner of East Ave. and Alexander St. One is right around the corner from there, and there's another club called Pearl that is decent on some nights.
Definitely have to get yourself a garbage plate at Nick Tahou's. It's like a Rochester legend, and if you look it up online, you'll see why people in America are so fat (They average around 3,500 calories).
There's actually quite a bit to do here, and there's tons of smaller more local bars too. One of my favorites is called Magpie and is right down the street from where I live on Park ave. |

Ohhh, I've had the magnificent garbage plate, it's awesome! I'm usually only there for a Monday to Friday run, never really there on good nights. And i'm out by Jefferson RD (Stay at the DoubleTree) and work is at RTP. Never really get into the city itself, just out in the area of where I stay. Been to the the Tally Ho and Klassy Kat tho! Nice places ;) |

Ahh yeah so you're more out in Henrietta. Yeah that's more of an Olive Garden, Outback, chain restaurant and shopping mall bonanza lol. I don't go out there too often. As for the Kat though, it doesn't hold a candle to Sundowners in Niagara Falls:tongue2 There's really not much to do night-life wise out in Henrietta, so I'd definitely recommend going downtown.
My friend DJs at a couple clubs around here, so if you see any advertisements for Andrew Lee spinning, you should check it out. Peter Pitsutelli (sp?) and Jon Herbert are the other well-known DJs around here, and both can throw down a pretty nice party if you can catch them on a Thursday night or something. |
