Again, there is much debate about why that is happening. When you include statistics of trade schools, the numbers are a bit more leveled out, and the higher levels of education are still dominated by men. |
No Theresa. Higher levels of education are NOT dominated by men. Stop referencing your feminism 1970s book. Your notion is outdated. Colleges and Universities are either equal or lean slightly towards or away from women. The lower level colleges like "University of [insert state or city name here]" lean heavily more towards women.
I have right in front of me a Tome of the Best 373 Colleges by The Princeton Review. Do you want me to provide you statistics? Here I'll spoon feed it to you.
Here are the female percentages on some top Universities. Note, these aren't even the lower level colleges. These are some pretty hard core prestigious American schools. Read the percentages and THEN tell me you think higher levels of education are still dominated by men.
FEMALE PERCENTAGE OF THESE SCHOOLS
HARVARD: 51%
PRINCETON: 49%
YALE: 50%
BROWN: 52%
COLUMBIA: 48%
CORNELL: 52%
DARTMOUTH: 50%
UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA: 50%
BOSTON COLLEGE: 52%
CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY: 38% (because it's mostly math and engineering)
CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY: 41% (computer science type of school that's why)
DUKE UNIVERSITY: 48%
EMORY UNIVERSITY: 55%
GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY: 54%
JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY: 47%
MIT: 45%
NORTHWESTERN: 52%
UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME: 47%
NEW YORK UNIVERSITY: 61%
RICE UNIVERSITY: 48%

Clearly you misread what I wrote.
I wasn't referring to the quality or "level" of the University itself, I was referring to the level of education. More men are getting their masters and doctorates than women.
Way to waste your time writing all that out. "PNWED" :stongue: |

What sort of name is College of William and Mary? Oh it's just the college that George Washington, the first president of the United States, went to. Also attended were Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, John Tyler, JOHN STEWART, Glenn Close, and Perry Ellis. I don't blame you AT ALL for not knowing this though lol. I had to work on this for a bit so I still have all the references. |

You said "higher education." That refers to anything after secondary school, or anything after high school. Are you now changing what YOU think higher education means? Do you think I'm going to believe that to YOU higher education ONLY means post-grad? I PWNED you can now you're changing your argument to make it seem like I'm stupid when I clearly grasped the meaning of higher education and you didn't. Now go do the dishes honey. |

Oh well, thanks for wasting my time by not differentiating between undergrad and post grad, but being really vague with the words "higher education" you wit. Anyway, I highly doubt women are underrepresented in post grad too. And I highly doubt I'm going to take your arguments serious anymore because you're vague and you have a vagina. |
LMAO!
You are such a tool. I didn't say "higher education", I said "levels of education". How you turned that into "levels of institutions" is beyond me and has nothing to do with my being vague. It has to do with your being dumb. Not to mention that I followed up with a reference to women being put in lower level positions as a result.

"United States dominated by women"... I highly doubt that. Like I said, the highest levels of education are still dominated by men. Obviously that means women are still going to be put into lower level positions than men a lot of the time.

Listen betch. I asked you a question. I said why did you use a BLAND term that encompasses BOTH under grad and grad when you LATER said you meant to say POST-GRAD. Why didn't you just say that in the beginning. Don't change the subject because you know I backed you into a corner. NOW ANSWER THE QUESTION.
And yes I need to get laid. :(
There's no way I'm wrong here. You're equivocating. Thank ing god I'm not straight. You're so manipulative. |

Let me reiterate in bold to you Mother Theresa.
Neither higher levels of education nor higher education exclusively refer ONLY to post-grad. The fact that you say you meant post-grad AFTER I posted stats was to change your view so as to avert taking a blow. |
