when did you go see him?
and which Trance songs did he actually play?
were his songs good live?
I'll take a safe guess that he played Silence!

And yes lightshow is very simple, this could easily be from 1995 instead of 2009. |
I'm just curious but what do you mean by 1995 and 2009?? |

A few months back - all the same stuff - like he PLayed some off the latest album and then it was like suburbabn train, silence, adagio for stings, traffik, love comes again same same same same with all the dodgey mixing you'd expect. |

SYSTEM-J, you never heard Suburban Train live?! (just curious)
I heard it live but sadly at the time I didn't even know it was Suburban Train... |
Never heard any Tiesto tracks live. I don't go to many trance events. |

at 1:23 it's not really a bad transition, he just used the filter which is a valid tool i don't like that kind of effect he is looking for (i hope is intended :wtf: ) the quality of the video is not good enough to judge if it sounded properly or not, things sound completely different live than on studio and a camera can't perceive the little details
And i can't believe he trainwrecks constantly, i haven't seen him live but on some live recordings i've listened from Space and Innercity the mixing is flawless.
On the other hand the mixing on his ISOS series is sometimes mediocre, an amateur dj could have mixed that. |

| The filtering at 1:23 completely butchers Suburban Train imo. |

I'm gonna have to agree, since the there was no potential buildup for the song anymore, the only part you could hear normally was the breakdown and drop |

so, phrasing, mixing in key, messing with EQ, and possibly filters... do you think he beatmatched it too? I'm not sure...
btw, EQ = knobs? |

| Kid, what's the point in asking how Tiesto mixed two tracks when you obviously don't know anything about DJing whatsoever? |

Well at first i also thought "oh my god" but it's not completely stupid, yes i think he beatmatched this too, not only the kicks claps etc.. have to be synchronized, the piano and the other elements must fall on beat too so it sounds as should.
And EQ = Knobs, the 3 knobs of the channels (4 if it's from Xone series) and the gain.
About the light show if you compare it to the light shows of big events this is so poor, i said looks like 1995 because i remember that they involved flashes, green/blue/red lights, simple in short.
Now you have tridimensional structures, lasers , leds , smoke , fireworks... it has become a show in itself, just check on youtube "Light Show at trance energy for example" and you'll find a lot of videos showing just the lasers |
