This is very sad. I, personally can't understand the entire idea of ending one's own life, but it's always sad when a life is ended so long before it should.
It is, however, almost insulting to bring her skill or talent or anything of the sort into the discussion at all. A young girl died. Her dying is no more or less terrible than any other 17 year old dying, whether it be from suicide, cancer, drunk driving, and the list goes on and on. |

That still doesn't make it right. You're right, it is a forum, so I have every right to say "you are a sick " in response to the people who tend to make such incredibly callous remarks.
Also, this isn't Music Discussion, and belongs in the cor. And regardless of the regularity of people making comments like that, there should be a line drawn somewhere. |

That's kind of a hasty critique of what I and perhaps geroin are getting at; one that faults my post for what it isn't, opposing what it is. To invoke your claim, one would be asked to impose a thread with the obituary of every teenager (and why stop there?) to have committed suicide. I certainly wasn't aiming to trivialize her passing.
The fact is that I heard some of the selections on her Amazon page. I was dismayed that someone so young, who had clear talent, had made such a bad decision and that, until now, I hadn't heard of her. In that, I'm only trivializing the unfortunate deaths of untalented teenagers when you raise the fact that I have yet to express my condolences for their having passed away with other untimely methodologies. |
