It's hard when the only demand in the city is for the cheesy big names. Boston is a tough city. Look at SvD a few yrs. ago. It was originally supposed to be @Roxy. So few people bought tickets ahead of time it got moved down to underbar and it still looked pretty dead in there. It's hit or miss w/some people.
Rise works hard & does a very good job with what they are given and not being able to serve alcohol. I've always given them lots of respect and support what they do. A lot of people in this city don't have an ear for it. You can throw disgusting raunchy electro in somewhere and jam out the place. Rise stays true to their game though. Some of the best times i've had have been there. Some dj's i'd prefer seeing them at rise more than almost any other place. |

i think i would prefer seeing any dj at rise, compared to any other venue in boston, for more than just the sound quality. kyau & albert at rise in 08 is still the best event i have been to in boston.

| Isn't Rise by invite/membership only? So is there a way to get in if you don't know anyone? He plays on Friday too compare to usual Thursdays. |

hmmm ok ok good point. hmmm wait who else there have been others there ill have to think bc ive been there like 4 times and 2 randy was playing WITH people....i think k&a was one though
I like rise a lot...super clean the crowd is always super cool the lack of alcohol at this hour is kind of nice too a lot more sober and respecful people. |

Ah Rise always had some very cool vibe to it. It was that only-real underground vibe that Bostonians had. That's why the crowed is very respectful to the venue.
Best show i seen there was from my friend Dave circa 2003ish (dj alias : DPL, Dave dish, Rocket empire)
especially when he dropped some Orbital tunes.. wow was that place perfect for that kind of music. |
