| Where can I get tickets for A&B (oh and also Ferry) other than on ticketmaster?? I don't want to pay so much in fees. |

how is the best buy theater overall as a venue for EDM? |
It's okayyy.. A good 1/3 of it is like theater seating (actual seats), it's a bit awkward. There's a level that you walk into that's pretty small, and the larger area below is a bit bigger. The sound last year was ehhh for Ferry Corsten's set, but I'm sure they've figured that out by now. It's cool to bring newcomers too, there's a lottttt of space to chill, hang out, grab munchies, walk around, several bars. It's not like Pacha where you have no choice but to get into the middle of the dancefloor if you wanna hear the set. I was also there for Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular......     |

I went there for a Wu Tang concert and the sound was a thousand times better than it was for Ferry last year. I cant comment per se, on the contrasting sounds/levels of hip hop and trance, but hopefully what I heard in December was a good sign that the sound has improved drastically! ;) :) :) |

Why do New Yorkers gets surprised. I mean a DJ is to entertain the crowd. So i'm not surprised to see that. Disappointing , but i can understand it.
Coming from New England to NY, i knew NY as a mainly House music preference. Therefore if i was a DJ coming to NY i would Focus on House/techno.
What im trying to say is since i don't know anything about Chicago scence i would focus on more Techy-trance to tech-techno if i were to get a gig there. Thinking like that due to the fact of knowing/heard Chicago as a Techno preference region.
This is why i am skeptical about showing up to trance Djs events coming from oversea here in NY. and most of time its true and they play more progressive then trancy sounds
Same djs in Boston play full on trance. |
In defense of A&B, last time they were here was Halloween 09. They followed Fedde Le Grande. I can understand that they kept their set dark. It would have been weird to play hands in the air trance after Fedde's set. I guess they tried to keep the vibe on an even keel for the night.
Their best show was their first in Pacha - I think it was 05 or 06. Nothing but bangers left and right. Hopefully they can do the same with a longer set and w/o other acts on the bill.
Agree with the rest of your post. |

FYI if you were pissed about the PVD coat-check fiasco recently, I believe it was a similar problem here when I saw Ferry last year here (when it was Nokia Theater). Line to get in was long and then the line for coat check was ridiculous. The first line I was one the coat check filled, so I had to get on another existing line and basically start all over. If I remember correctly, I was on the coat check lines for over 90 minutes.
Of course, this is end of April so hopefully coats will be optional. :) |

| Well... just bought my ticket. It was $35 but with ticketmaster it came out to $51.50. This is really pissing me off. I really want another place to buy tickets (for cheaper fees or cheaper entry) but I was afraid if I waited too long, the price would go up. |

Most of these ticketing services seem to screw you over with 'service fees'. What service could they possibly be doing that it costs like 20% of the face value of the ticket!? |
