When is the last time you saw Kevin play?
trancension
Kevin Focus isn't horrible. He also hasn't gotten massive support from Schulz/Emery though (that made me lol).

But uhhhh, where did you read A&B are only going to play 1.5 hours? Cuz if they are only playing for 2 hours or less...then ya, I definitely won't be going either.
amberella06
Gareth has played 2 of his tracks in his podcast and I know Schossow played a track in his show as well. He did a remix for one of Markus' tracks from the do you dream album.
PVDfan07
Yeah, the opening dj and the 2nd room is a joke. A big show like this would have thought they could have gotten at least one of their anjuna buddies like Jaytech or someone, but instead they get Kevin Focus. lol. These hyped up announcements have gotten old. Dubstep at an Above and Beyond show? Anyways, I will be with the others on this and say I have just leaned towards not going.
amberella06
I, personally could care less what's going on in the other room. I'd love to see one of the Anjunadeep/beats guys open, I mean who wouldn't? Luckily I saw a few of them at the Anjubeats party in Miami.

I don't get what everyone has against Kevin? If an ATL resident was the opener, would everyone bitch just the same?
trancension
Like I said, Kevin isn't bad. Seen him open a few times while in Charlotte. He did a pretty good job opening for Markus last time, and Markus even gave him a shoutout in his next blog post (I'm pretty sure that's the only support he's gotten from Markus, and like I said -- far from being "massive"). And it is cool that a local, not-so big name is getting a shot.

But at the end of the day I think Devin pulled another "hyped it up too much, and now I hit way below everyone's expectations," because as Zach pointed out, Kevin Focus and dubstep are far from being big announcements and what not. Although it probably was unrealistic for people to expect Jaytech or someone like him to open for an Atlanta show. Promoters...can't enjoy EDM with them, can't have EDM without them.

I'll still wait and hear whether or not A&B are playing 2 hours or less before I pan this event. If they are playing a proper 3+ hour set, I'll still try and go to this depending on when my friend and Kyau & Albert are playing over at Bubblicious. Because openers aren't really a big deal to me...I show up 30-45 mins before the headliner is supposed to go on most of the time anyways. Although if it were Jaytech, I probably would be there as the doors opened. Seen him twice, and he has been great both times.

ZeeRobot1
I would much rather of had ian james or kazell or even some of the other locals just idk focus just doesnt do a&b justice. and btw I wasnt saying they are going to play for a hr and a half but I mean be realistic guys its the tabby it wont be open past 2:30-3:00.
trancension
Ya, I expect the Tabby to close at 2:45'ish, but if A&B go on at midnight...let me check my math...

14:45 - 12:00 = 2 hrs 45 mins...that's almost twice as many songs as a 1.5hr set. Big deal to me. So I'll wait and hear if A&B are "supposed" to go on at midnight'ish or if they're going on after 12:30. Could go either way. And depending which way will decide whether or not I go.
