Of course they aren't new, but technology is evolving. And its not because Apple came out with a tablet that people are now finally buying one. But more and more purposes for them are being found.
Netbooks attention is now shifting into tablet form. Tablets perform similar and different functions anyway. | i bet you go in the apple store every time you visit the mall... |

Ipad 2 just unveiled.... the only thing that gets me is the battery life, its thin, cheaper (surprisingly!) than other tablets and also has facetime.
I would still like to get my hands on a xoom.

Not much going on with this, but that was expected. Also, look out for the announcement of the iPad 3 in august/september, to be release in october!

I had quake 3, 3 HD videos and 5 apps all running at the same time. With HTML5 and Adobe Flash support this thing blows teh Ipad outta the water. I can;t comment on the Android device but anyone who gets an Ipad is retarded.

You were playing Quake 3 on the Playbook?
sold....
waiting anxiously for that. |

My biggest gripe with the Playbook is its lack of SD card compatibility :whip:
I love SD cards, use them for all my cameras, my Torch uses it, I use them in my deck in my car for my tunes, easy to bring movies or other media in a small package.... :(
Would make it much easier to take media from the camera to the playbook, or music from my laptop to car to playbook, and for movies as well. Ohh well :( |

Trust me, the next version (also with every other tablet) will have SD card support. I don't like it but they need something new to add to the previous model each and every time.
what i dont like and foresee in the future is that tablets are not as disposable as cell phones. people can upgrade cellphones each year, twice a year etc., but will not upgrade tablets at the same rate. maybe because they dont have or will have a use of it as much as cellphones. unless its completely dependent on your position/business. |

RIM's OS is slowly dying out thanks to Apple and Android. I'd stay away from any BB products. I personally have a 64gb ipad and I love it. I also use an iMac at home, though, so the compatibility between the two isn't an issue for me. If you can afford it, I'd definitely recommend the iPad over any of the others, but then again, I tend to prefer Mac products over anything else.
I've messed around with a few of my friends' Android phones, and they just don't have that.....je ne sais quoi. |

Because it sucks, and no developers want to build apps for it due to the horrendous process you have to go through. |
