Ah...the OSX vs Windows argument. First of all, they are all PCs, personal computers, so any of you that are making other statements are idiots.
I am a systems admin for an animation company, and we run a completely mixed environment. Our entire editing department is using Mac Pros, and I must tell you these people know how retarded OSX can be. When most people say one works better than the other, it is because they have not used either system that in depth.
The amount of mysterious events, and errors we see in OSX, is just as high, or higher than our Windows based machines.
The single biggest reason people are over whelmed with Windows, is because the errors they get are actually descriptive. When you get an error in OSx, it is "error 12" and that is it. So the user does not see any extra info, which they do not understand, and they get the feeling that things are simple. But as an admin, trying to track down errors, and fixes in OSX is a nightmare.
Our game development team feels the same way here. The amount of frustration they go through, dealing with obscure, and poorly documented errors in OSX causes a lot frustration and lost time and money.
I personally used a mac for 7 months an a job before I installed Windows on it so that I could actually get work done in a more efficient manner.
I don't think anyone was saying that either one were not PCs? :conf: The only thing I said was that Macs have Unix-based OS's and Windows platforms do not.
As I said before, my company uses almost exclusively PCs and I still prefer Macs at home. Either way, somebody's claims on a web forum shouldn't sway your decision. The only thing I can say is that you should try both and see which one you prefer. If you're used to PCs, however, it may take more than a 5 minute play around with an Apple store demo before you figure everything out, so don't give up too quickly.
To the Orko, god forbid you have to google what an error means in OSX. The kinds of errors you're getting typically never happen when you're using a Mac for personal use, or at least they rarely (if ever) happen to me. Objectively, you really can't argue that OSX is more stable than Windows. When is the last time you've seen a Mac crash right after start-up? I get the blue screen of death at work right after hitting the power button probably once every month or so. A lot of PC owners even admit that OSX is more stable, but not as ideal for what they're using it for, can't afford the price, etc.

Reminds me of Stephen Colbert's "whatever just happened is the only thing that is happening."
I'm guessing comparisons aren't your strong suit then? Me using personal experience reminds you of Fox news disproving a widely accepted scientific theory because of a snowstorm?
It sounds like you're the type to hear what you want to hear ;)
Like I've said many times, I use both PC and Mac, and I use PC far more because that's exclusively what I use at work. I also run Windows and OSX on my home computer, and I prefer OSX because it's a more stable operating system.
Does that remind you of some Hitler speech sometime in history? Perhaps the Columbine shooting?
*Hint* argument ad hominem is a logical fallacy

Now you know what it feels like.

82% of future tablet buyers will buy Apple’s iPad, survey suggests
According to an independent survey conducted by market research firm ChangeWave, Apple’s iPad still has no real competition in the eyes of consumers. ChangeWave released the results of its survey on Thursday, revealing that 82% of respondents planned to purchase the iPad instead of a competitive offering such as the Motorola XOOM, BlackBerry PlayBook or Samsung Galaxy Tab. The firm surveyed 3,091 consumers in the month of February — before the iPad 2 was announced and, for the most part, before the XOOM was available for consumers to try — and 27% said they planned to purchase a tablet in the future. Of those 835 people, a whopping 82% said they would be buying the Apple iPad. The Motorola XOOM found itself in the sights of 4% of the group and the BlackBerry PlayBook and Samsung Galaxy Tab each took 3% shares of ChangeWave’s sample. The remaining 8% intended to purchase a tablet other than the four devices named in the survey.
Well I guess that settles it. Most of those people will buy it based on marketing.

(I personally don't really care about the iPad 2 launch and the news that's coming out, due to the catastrophic events happening in Japan ... but, here some info for those who are intrested.)
Apple?s iPad 2 comes with a faster 1 GHz dual-core A5 chip, which can do twice the work of the original iPad and up to 9 times graphics performance.
According to a report by AnandTech, Apple?s new A5 System on a Chip (SoC) includes a more powerful PowerVR SGX 543MP2 instead of the PowerVR SGX 535 used in the original A4.
AnandTech explains:
Architecturally the 543MP2 has more than twice the compute horsepower of the SGX 535 used in Apple's A4. Each shader pipeline can execute twice the number of instructions per clock as the SGX 535, and then there are four times as many pipes in an SGX 543MP2 as there are in a 535. There are also efficiency improvements as well. Hidden surface removal works at twice the rate in the 543MP2 as it did in the 535. There's also a big boost in texture filtering performance.
AnandTech conducted GLBenchmark 2.0 tests to find out the triangle throughput tests and observed that iPad 2 delivered results 3 to 5 times faster than iPad 1 and 2 to nearly 7 times faster than Motorola Xoom.
AnandTech also found that iPad 2 ran at 5.4 times the framerate of iPad 1, which grows to 7 times if anti-aliasing is turned on and 3.7 times the framerate of the Xoom.
The Pro tests showed a 3 to 5 times performance improvement compared to iPad 1.
To understand what it means from a user point of view, checkout the in-game screenshots of Infinity Blade iPad game by Epic Games optimized for iPad 2. You can see the improvement in graphics quality on iPad 2 compared to iPad 1:
If there were any doubts, the results clearly show that Apple?s new A5 chip blows away Nvidia?s Tegra 2 chip that powers Motorola Xoom, which will also be used in a number of tablets that will be released this year such as Dell Streak 7, G-Slate, Acer ICONIA Tab A500, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Asus Eee Pad Slider.
We expect the new A5 chip with the more powerful PowerVR SGX 543MP2 to used in the next generation iPhone ? iPhone 5.
Are you still thinking of buying a Tegra 2 powered tablet instead of iPad 2?
Here's a little video of how long the line was in NYC, this is almost as long as the IP4 launch and indeed the demand is massive for the iPad 2.
