Scary stuff.

It had an aftershock over 7!

8.9 --> 6.4 --> 6.4 --> 6.8 --> 3.2 --> 7.1 --> 6.3.
DaveT
That 6.8 aftershock was actually centered in Tokyo, not near the original epicenter. Fires in Tokyo.

Scary stuff!

(I've always had a fascination with natural events, sorry!)

All the news channels are showing high-quality videos of the tsunami flooding land near the shoreline, probably from a helicopter.

The images are incredible. I have never seen tsunami videos this clear before. When the camera pans out you can see just how devastating tsunamis can be. Buses and homes are being tossed around like they are nothing.

Tsunami warnings for Hawaii, ~2:59am Hawaii time.

I hope that guy who is from Japan that posts here is alright

well, i am good. but wife can't be reached. all cell are down. tsunami and fire going on. all trains and monorail are down. pretty wild.
jimji1005
and the news anchor on tv is wearing a construction hard hat. that is pretty interesting.

Also, to make light of the earthquake, if they can broadcast a Tsunami in 2011 in this stunning detail, imagine how well they would have braodcast the World Cup had they got it. Damn you Qatar

Im hoping for no deaths, but there is no way nobody died in that tsunami

Glad to hear you're ok Jimji. I can't imagine how much worse this would have been had it hit closer to Tokyo
