i get my hair cut at a salon
while it's kind of expensive...i usually get it cut like 4 or 5 times a year..so i don't mind paying more
and gimme a break with that "ask for the master stylist" rofl.

"hi i need a hair cut"
-"alright sandra, cut this gentleman's hair please"
"i'd like to request the master stylist"
-"alright sandra, charge this gentleman 40 bucks extra please"

I do not want to see a picture of Hal's hair. I already know it's pretty bad.

40 bucks is relatively cheap for a "master stylist". Back when i had long hair i used to go to this salon in woodbridge to cut it, this chick which was pretty good (as in worked there for a long time) charged me like 50-60 bucks for a cut and it wasn't even good, it was . she would make the back of my head look either way to round or way too square, i hated it. Anyways, one day i went out and got a $120 professional hair clipper/buzzer and started shaving my own hair since. i must have saved way over a grand since then.

It's cheap because part of being a master stylist is having more pull (read: more clients) at the salon one works in. She doesn't have to charge a lot because she's bringing the salon more money - therefore doesn't pay as much (if at all) to rent her chair, and she gets perks. Stylists also have to buy all of their own tools of the trade, products, etc. A master stylist usually has connections to freebees, and companies recruit them to promote their products. So where a newbie stylist would be putting their earnings towards actually being able to do their job, a master stylist is taking most, or all, of theirs home - and then some.
