Loved the coop of dragon rising. MP was an abortion though. this one is getting even more streamlining though so a bit cautious.
And seriously, im ing sick of console shooters and their 60 degrees FoV.

Looks like another , generic FPS. What's so interesting about it?
Trailer doesn't even include gameplay shots.

Its one of the few shooters in existence where ballistics are affected by gravity, so you need to take that into consideration when shooting. The further away the bad guys are, the more you have to compensate for bullet drop. The game (at least dragon rising) is also set in huge open environments, as opposed to the corridor-like nature of the CoDs & battlefields. Shooting engagements tend to happen over much greater distances too, where you can barely see the enemy.
Dragon rising had its share of issues (MP lag problems, control of vehicles on PC, poorly designed missions) but still a breath of fresh air in the military-themed shooter genre. Obviously its nowhere near as hardcore and sim-like as Arma, but I find those games rather clunky as eastern European games tend to be.
Overall I found the shooting mechanics and huge environments were what hooked me, felt very satisfying to pull off 400m shots with the assault rifle, rather than the 5m-10m ranges you get in CoD.

though i just realised this is going to GFWL. codemasters used to be one of my fave developers. now they can get ed :(

That goes for most developers out there.
The simple rule of thumb i use is, the more you brag about how awesomely streamlined your next title is, the more you can go yourselves.
Which is why recently Bioware made my list of the companies that can go themselves.

yeah, its ing . i watched a deus ex video the other day. showing off just how open all teh choices are. and all i saw was a bunch of glowing items that say "come this way!". there are fewer and fewer titles i want to play each year :( most of the genres i love are dumb as dog these days.

The thing that made me stop caring about DE3 was watching one of the developers explain that the "streamlined" (god i hate that word) nature of the game doesnt make it any less stealthy if thats how you want to play it. He proceded to demonstrate that by performing an instant takedown trough a brick wall which of course nobody else in the game noticed
If streamlined means that by pressing one button your character drops in the middle o9f a group of 4 opponents, disposes of them in a second in what would in real life be very painful and extremely loud method and the other gueards dont hear him doing it...then streamlined games and their developers can go straight to hell.
Seriously, unless theres a major shift in gaming, where the PC will agin be the primary gaming device it will continue to go downhill, since games have to be dumbed down way to much to work on consoles.

first im not a child,
second pc dont have much power to run games in hd 1080p, on big screen like "42 "50, except that you must buy every 2-3 months a new graphic card to play new video game, and what about the game, crack, install, antialiasing, v-sync, and exclusive games... (BORING)
on console just put the cd and you play,
pc sucks for gaming!
