sendspace link still works tho :(
damnn that was quick! i still got to listen to it on there though last night. Dope tune, if only the sample could be cleared..
Edit. Actually i thought that if you purchase an acapella for instance legally on beatport (opposed to downloading from somewhere) you can use it in your track without any issues? if you cant then whats the point of the labels releasing the acapellas for purchase? :conf:

i think the accapellas are for live DJ sets...
instead of fighting the copyright police I've decided to take it all down, remove the sample and shop it proper... maybe it's for the better

As far as I know a person is free to create his/her own track by using any part of any track as long as the former does not receive any royalties whatsoever. Does this not underpin the entire EDM bootleg and hip hop mixtapes industries?

Im a bit confused on this... ive heard mixed things from people. Does anyone know what the deal is with for instance using acapellas purchased legally from beatport? because i purchased a couple that ive been meaning to use in my productions.

Just to be clear, I'm talking solely about bootlegs (remixes/reworks that are never made available for sale (no possibility of generating profit)).
I certainly suspect that purchasing an acapella off Beatport does not give an artist the right to use it in a new song and then sell that track.
Seems like this is the correct answer
"It's not a grey area actually, you buy the a capella from Beatport for your own personal use, you do not buy the rights to (re)release it in a commercial production.
To do that you have to contact the record label and the writers/publishers which own the rights of that song to come to an agreement. "

Cool, thanks. As I suggested :)

apparently to give it away free u also need permission now... it's a major problem imo
also how the samples are catalogued is a nightmare as so many samples are uncleared and used a million times.
