I need to give Rogers the axe. Speeds have been cut in half, and my download + online gaming sucks 'cuz of it.
I need 1.5MB down, at least. Now I'm getting 800kb/s to 1.2 kb/s, depending on the time of day.
Oh how I miss how it was 2 years ago - no fooling around. I hosted lagless online games, and my dl's were fast. Now I have to jack off or something just to keep myself entertained while I download stuff. |

| There's some fast DSL services starting at 55$ with no caps... the speeds are about 300K down and about 75K up. I think they might be perfect for hosting games :) |

if you have winxp use the pppoe drivers provided with xp. If you use something else, get winpoet as a dialier... I never used access manager when I had sympatico. |

ok, there's kilobits and kilobytes. 1 Kbyte = 8 Kbits. so when ahlamalek mentioned 300k down and 75k up, they're 2.4 megabits and 600 kilobits respectively. also, Kb means kilobit (with lowercase b), KB means kilobyte (with uppercase B). hope this clears things up. |

About configuring winxp for dsl internet, just make a new internet connection and xp will ask you what kind of internet connection it is, choose DSL and voila! |
