Who remembers FTWK at Tonic? (pg. 3)

I love these threads...definitely bring back the memories.

I was downtown when the Oakie party shut down Peter. It was chaos and the best part is that back then, anyone who wasn't part of the scene had any idea who this guy was, or why everyone was lining up to see a "Dj".

Element was awesome too.
Saw many good DJ's downstairs in that space.

The good ol'days.

I still remember meeting you at System all those years ago.

Need to hit up more 'element' type, lily, wrongbar, the social type bars.

This party happened during a teacher's strike, so me, being just 19 in high school got to go. T'was awesome. Max outplayed Oakie that night, IMO, but wow, those parties were the heydays on my partying, and this one in particular was one of those really special ones.

That's not surprising.

Max also did 8 hour "Shine" sets at System basically monthly (residency). Those were just awesome. :)

Ya, I met a bunch of you guys at those System Parties back in the day. Jeff, Jon, and I were just partiers back then bug regulars on the floor, it's great to see them still contributing to the scene.

I still show up at random events now and then, a little more selective these days, and home a lot earlier.

I've heard rumours I'll be playing at Li'Ly again soon so maybe see ya there.

aww Element. I played the last event there before it closed, one of my first DJ gigs ever. Had a number of pretty late after parties upstairs too :eyes:

My first visit to System was seeing Sandra Collins for $5.00!!!
Best female set I've heard by far.

System was indeed the ELITE spot of them all, I miss it so dearly and it felt like it was home ... everyone's home.

If System didn;t close down, I would still be there every God damn Friday ... regardless.

(Everything felt so cold and odd right when System closed down, even Guv didn;t feel the same to me)

i wouldnt, i get drunk nowadays and it takes me 2-3 days to recover. but i could've still gone full steam ahead for at least another 3 years. everything after that was .

anybody remembers roxy blue??

, some of us are old.
E2EK1EL
roxy blue!

What about Spin Cat, Space and Basement? I've never been to those "clubs" back then.

PivotTechno
It's Roxy Blu, actually.

And while System might have been the "it" space for that particular generation, pound for pound it would have a hard time holding a candle to the mid-90s insanity that was Industry Nightclub (and I say this having attended both regularly).

Ohhhh Industry was outstanding too! BBB @ Industry was a turning point for me, first sober party and having blast w/o drugs.

(I should rephrase my statement, System was the ELITE club after the raves scene died)
