Mixing was off at a few places, but your track selection was good. Overall i think that your programming skills are a lot better than i remember (albeit you usually play stuff i might not love). The mixing wasn't horrible at all, but towards the end of the set things got a bit disjointed and jumpy. Not enough to flop though because most of these tunes still speak for themselves.

Thank you to everyone who downloaded and commented, it's really appreciated. I'm a bit surprised with the feedback. I thought the transition into Lilo was pretty , but I couldn't do anything as both tracks had really short intros. And yet no one seemed to mention this.
Kind of expected the comments about Libellules. Its placement was very intentional. As that track builds slowly and dramatically throughout its length, I wanted it to act as a kind of breakdown in the middle of the mix, before going into something quite energetic straight after. Hence why I dropped the bass on Groove la Chord where you would have expected Libellules to go off. Anyway, I'm happy I did something a little bit different, rather than the previously mentioned safe route.
Kind of bummed, really. Just yesterday I got five superb new tracks which would have fit perfectly into this. I suppose that when you're more on top of music that's always going to happen though.

This is basically the reason why I disagreed with your point a while back that sounding original should be the only real aim of a musician. The concept of a seasonal mix isn't original, and perhaps one rendered through melodic techno isn't that original either. But you're coming at this from the angle of someone with a prog/psy mixing background and this set will probably sound different than something a techno DJ would concoct. So it's not conceptually original, but (hopefully, if you've got any of your own character about your work) it will have its own identity that won't be rehash of other executions of this idea.
Not really. I remember that my first proper mix was called A String 'n' Sax Attack and was full of Defected-style soulful house and the like. It included this, I think:
On the topic of creativity, my original concept was better. The mix cover was going to be an image of people picnicking at a park with a radio. After the Vincenzo ambient track, I had a sample of a radio being tuned, and was then going to drop the first track in the middle of a vocal as if it'd just been tuned in. I also found an amusing parody radio ad, which I was going to play over one of the transitions. None of it really worked though, so I went for this.

Enjoyed this one big time, this is the type of techno I like the most - smooth and atmospheric.
Could you recommend some mixes/albums in a similar style?

I don't really tend to follow compilations and mixes that much, but Adam420's recent Prophet and the Golden Hawk mix posted here was better than mine.
Really enjoyed this, nice and laid back. Got the work I was doing finished before I knew it!

I'm really, really into the track at 37 mins. It's not normally the sort of track I'd enjoy, either. I can't put my finger on why I like it so much. Maybe the odd way that it picks up? It's ing awesome.

It's Agoria - Panta Rei. I suggest you check out that whole album, it's nice.

I dunno, you're always gonna be more critical and pick up on faults before anyone else when it comes to your own mixes, it's a good approach. Sometimes I even struggle to fault other peoples sets the first time I hear them, maybe more critical of the tunes than the actual mixing and structure. I didn't pick up on any of the points you raised, I've listened to this a few times now and despite being short, it's very well played to my ears, I also wish it was longer but yeah great tunes.
