The only LA club on there is Avalon at 95.
Just to clarify, this is voted on by DJs, right? Cause if you go over to the NYTA section, you get the impression that actually going to Pacha is horrible. :P |

| I think this is voted by the readers...since I've seen Marquee spamming my facebook at one point trying to ask us for votes. Glad they at least made it to top 100! |

This is one voted by the readers.
It did use to be 600+ DJs who voted, but I guess they changed that which is dumb (there are pros or cons for each poll, but I liked knowing which clubs stood out to DJs and there no marketing influence involved. I think it's ridiculous they are allowed to market for at o 100 poll.). Because smaller (US) clubs will never win now. But I imagine they are using it now like the DJ Poll to help drive traffic and more notoriety over time to its site/magazine.
Marquee was promoting the Top 100 Clubs poll trying to getting people to go vote for them and even with that. Always saw it thrown in front of my face, and it still just got #80.
Anyhow, like the DJ Poll, I would not be shocked if this poll is half-rigged. For example how is beta #15? They promote themselves to get all the Denver folks to go vote for it? Just seems a little out of place for a smaller venue in a mid-level/size city at best. It's not a destination club or anything for travelling clubbing folks (though I want to go there!). Especially in comparison to the rest of the clubs in the top 20. It's just way out of place there, IMO, for a fan voted poll, unless marketing (or something else) was involved). If DJs voted on it, I could see it there. |

Yeah, that struck me too. I've heard great things about Beta, and I'm sure it's awesome, but I never really saw it as a "destination club" like just about every other club in the top 20 is. |

| This vote is a crock of if Guverment isn't in the top 5. That club's bathroom is better than most clubs period |

Wow... Voyeur made the list? #68 interestingly enough. TBH, I never really enjoyed the crowd there. Some shows were great, others were really blah. I haven't been since they renovated as nothing is pulling me to the club so far. Some decent nights, but nothing I'm being drawn to.
That being said, the light show there every time I went was crap. The LED is underutilized, and the lights have no vibe to what the club is doing. It's an okay venue, but if its in the real top 100 that's a shame to the world. Maybe it needs a better light designer.
Of course, I stipulate this with the fact that I haven't been in over 6+ months, when the walls that separated the dance floor were still up.
I'll also note that their description of the crowd is appalling. There's a themed staff certainly, but the crowd has nothing to do with it. Sad description of a downtown venue with a downtown, dressed-up crowd that's there most often to be seen. Nothing like what DJ Mag reported.. surprised at all? Nope. |

You have to take these lists with a grain of salt, particularly anything affiliated with DJMAG.
Although i haven't been to every club on that list, I would say that Amnesia is the best club in the world. Its not exceptionally nice as some of the newer clubs, but its spacious and probably the best ventilated club anywhere in the world. Also, hosting the best party in the world every Monday helps. :) |

went to Ibiza for my first time last year, and SPACE was definitely the best club i've ever been to in my life.
Unlike the other clubs on the island, its not insanely overcrowded, not hot inside, its not a bottle service spot whatsoever, is right on the beach pretty much and they give out FREE admission wristbands almost everyday.
Sound system in the main room and the 2 terraza's is the off the hook (funktion one). The overall layout is of the club is ideal, especially considering it has a maximum of 6 rooms of music (depending on the day of the week).
And they dont give a about drug use. They'll pad you down at the door but will NEVER ask you to empty your pockets or say what's in them :)
i'm just sayin' , lol |
