So who here is jumping on the wagon. I did for jokes... I never got twitter so I figure this will make up for it.
I prefer BBM even though this is a complete knockoff of BBM down the the last detail of the icon. Its worse than a Gucci handbag on Canal Street.
Anyway, if you don't know what it is its like BBM but for almost every phone except Windows Phones (so I hear). What else can we as consumers buy into that we get bored of 6 months later.
Too many options in this world.

| I've never used whatsapp but people kept telling me to get it but never did. I always hated the name. So really, I couldn't compare. Its more or less the same thing but, this is just competition. |

| My FB account is full of people updates saying what their LiveProfile number is, I bet I'll join. What's ing gay though are my friends on my BBM list telling me what their LiveProfile number is.... like why do I care, you're already on my BBM :haha: |

I guess the hope is to convert everyone to Profile Live and remove the dependency of using multiple chat applications.
It would be easier if everyone was on the same application versus have multiple apps. |

Gotta miss the ol ICQ days...
For me I just say eff it and rely on text messages. There's enough unlimited text plans out there for cheap and I get international included as well. Keeps everything simple cause everyones got a phone. If it's something lengthy go email. Facebook started with a good foundation for being communication tool but it cluster ed itself with too much going on and too much commercial BS. |

I'm sticking to text messaging for now, and if I really must BBM is just around the corner for non-BlackBerry devices so I'll take the plunge then if need be. |

You don't need BBM, most carriers have unlimited nation wide & international SMS / MMS services now. Even with Whatsapp, Kik and all those lame ass IM apps on the iPhone, I never use them. Only HeyWire and TextPlus are useful, they create a gateway for you to SMS over data to a mobile number back and forth.
A long time ago, BB didn't thread their SMS and that made everything confusing to stay on track with a conversation. This forced everyone to use BBM for IM.
Even my Treo 600 made in 2003 threaded the SMS, it was their plan all a long.

| bbm is much better than live or whatsapp(on bb at least) and its opening up to all platforms soon anyways, so bye bye whats app, live, texts |

lets hope bbm is avaliable on android and iphone....
but i doubt it.... its the other reason ppl buy a BB, the main reason being for business use of course.... |

This will change very soon. If not by the end of the month. But this year it will be on all those platforms. |
