Yeah man, it is. The way she talked about S.E.T.I. It's her.

Just watched the last part w Michael talking/venting again, he's great. Deterministic point of view from an astrobiologist. Awesome.

To all haters out there, please enlighten me, which space ship americans are using right now to get to ICS, and how much does it cost for one person to get there?

uhhh whats your point here exactly?

The Americans are light years (no pun intended) ahead of the Russians at this point.

in late 1990's the space program was almost near death because of post soviet collapse issues but the space program has steadily progressed in the last 10+years. I only see better things happening in the future, the specialists are there, it's the funding that's still lacking..

US space funding is suffering as well i assume, who knows if they can continue funding research after so much that's been happening in the last decade or so (iraq, 9/11 etc). as per your video it cost them $800 million to send that probe to mars.. ridiculous numbers.

I totally agree with you Gera but I fail to see how the Americans are still trying to catch up, when they've already put men on the moon, sent rovers to Mars, probes to Saturn and it's moons, not to mention the Voyager I and II probes. I have the utmost respect for what Russia has accomplished and their abilities, but lets be real here: they're far behind the US at this point in time.

As for US space funding: it's definitely suffering, mainly because it's not reaping the instant rewards that so many people are accustomed to. The fact that the population has been so dumbed down in recent decades doesn't help either (most people can't really grasp the "reality" of outter space). It's much easier to focus on iPads, radical Muslims taking over America, Jersey Shore and American Idol.

The shuttle program is coming to a close, so that'll save them lots and lots of money though. A real shame, but that's the political and social landscape facing NASA at present.
