Ok, here is a new article, more for the producers out there - a logical approach to choosing a key for your tracks.
This has annoyed one or two melody-lovers, but interesting stuff always gets heated!
Hope some of you find it useful :)

| i was thinking of A minor before watching this, now i see i am right and that this thought isn't casual , is interesting also because sometimes i've rejected some keys because the bass didn't sound as i expected, but going that far is excesive. |

| i was quite positive it was C minor, so this is shocking to me. I didnt read carefully though so I dont know how many tracks he tested with and from what genre and time. Still it makes sense caus Amin is considered the chord of evil and sadness and also considered give one of the strongest reactions in the human brain. lol science mixed with music, soon someone will find the formula for collective suicide. |

| Amin is the most popular for no other reason than it's all white keys on a piano and most edm producers are horrible musicians which is why they settle on a one/two bar loop and repeat it for seven minutes. |

Swings and roundabouts. I'd argue that G# or C#min are best because they seem to be the least common keys, so the DJs who are obsessed with harmonic mixing are likely to keep your track in mind longer to bridge the gap (if it's good).
I find a lot of Amin tracks rather boring to my ears, I've noticed that a lot of my all time favourites seem to be in C, F# and B. |

Certainly i always love to see that a track i like it's written in that key, if you pick 15 tunes and drop them on MIK you'll notice that at least 3 of them are "8A" while it's very strange to find B or G#.
But they sometimes pitch the tracks, good djs play the track that they fit is needed in that moment, if they need to pitch it a bit to get in key with the playing track they do,also a good way to move between different genres smoothly |

how can a chord be boring? boring has to do with time and a chord says nothing about for how long its on. lets say it was on for about 5ms. that cant possible be boring, you wouldnt even manage to sort out what type of sound it was, and definitly not the chord. you would probably be scared if it was silence before and after and the chord was 100dB. maybe get a heartattack too. is heartattack boring too? ok ill stop lol. |
