| Not directed at you, srussell, but from what I hear and from the people I've worked with I got the impression that a Bachelor's degree in the US is hardly worth the paper it's written on. The level must be ridiculously low. Maybe depends on school / state, though. |

That is true. My BA and BS are practically worthless here. It used to be that a 4 year degree was a one-way ticket to a good job, but that's really not the case anymore. The subjects I studied in college were more for interest than anything else, as I didn't really have any idea what I wanted to do post-school. I work in IT now, and although the computer science minor was helpful, it's more about specific certifications than anything else.
That being said, a bachelor's degree from the school I went to does look good on a resume, as opposed to a degree from a state school or something like that. It also obviously depends on what the degree is. A bachelors in any kind of Engineering in the US can get you a good job right out of college, along with a Bachelors in Econ or something like that. So, yeah, unless I wanted to go on to be a Philosophy professor or a clinical Psychologist, my degrees aren't too valuable to me at this point. A career in either of those fields would most likely require a PhD (which I'm not completely opposed to), but I've been leaning more towards law school recently. Philosophy degrees definitely look good to law schools due to the emphasis placed on logic and reasoning. |

And what about your utter inability to correllate criticism in any creative manner when it is directed at you? Is that going on your resume, too?

I'm well aware of what it means, and it took you how many pages of everyone telling you that you were flat-out wrong for you to correlate the implications? Oh right, that never ended up happening, and you still think that you're right. |
