Wondering why there wasn't a thread made for this yet. Before watching the pilot, I knew it was an HBO series, so my expectations were very high.
And man were they met Sunday night! I've read the books and currently waiting for Martin's next couple, but I think that the TV series is going to do the books great justice. Plus I noticed Martin is an executive producer on the project... so when the author is involved that only means good things are to come!
Can't wait till next Sunday now! |

| Saw the first episode yesterday on HBO canada...enjoyed it a lot. Didnt know it was a fantasy series when I saw the previews. Cant wait for next week. |

I'm a massive fantasy nerd, and I have to say... I've been eagerly anticipating this premiere for ages. Satisfied thus far, and my hopes are high (being that Martin was involved) that it will stay this way!
The books are stunningly good. Couldn't put them down, and can't wait for the next installment.
Here's to hoping Malazan book of the Fallen comes along one day... *sigh* |

Pretty decent episode last night! I find that they are successfully summarizing events from the book and are picking the best ones for the development of the story imo.
I still crack up sometimes seeing that Baywatch actor who also played Ronan in Stargate: Atlantis. I keep on expecting him to pull out his gun and start shooting Wraith who are culling the Doth'raki people. :haha: |
