Creator to retire June 1st 2012
I have been thinking for a while about how my Djing career would end.
Any way you want to look at it, it's always kind of sad. Either you become an 'has been' that nobody wants to book anymore, or you slowly lose interest in what you do. Maybe you end up having a kid, and your priorities changes.
Or you simply disappear, and people say 'hey do you remember that guy?'.
Those endings, always paints a shadow on the good nights you gave, and memories people keep.
Next year I will be 37 years old (!!) and it's a fact that my DJ life is coming to end...
... but it will be an ending like no other.
The last 12 years have been simply amazing, and I don't see why it should end any other way.
Friday June 1st 2012 will be my last gig. One big party to say a proper goodbye. An all night extended set @ Black Out, Circus.
Until then, one full year with moments that I will enjoy and appreciate, while slowly letting go.
I will leave at my best, with the passion still alive and kicking.
3 years ago Circus made my ultimate dream come true. They give me a night where I could play my sound, for how long as I wanted. Invite all my favorite guests. Promote this music that is so dear to me.
And we built something truely unique.
I'm so fortunate to play at Circus, and I would like to thank them for their trust. It's been such a pleasure to work with Louis and Franco.
Black Out is my last contribution, and with that new sound system, it's the perfect ending.
Afterwards, I'll see what other projects I can tackle and news ways to redefine myself.
Until then, see you on the dancefloor.
Next date: Creator All Night Extended Set at Circus F. May 6th
Also, don't miss my 2 hours exclusive set on Radio NRJ 94,3 FM tomorrow (Friday) from 3 am to 5 am on the Circus radio show. |

Martin, I still remember the haters who were saying you were getting gigs just because you were running RaveMontreal. Wow seems so long ago!
One thing is for sure, you will leave a very rich heritage behind you. You contributed greatly to build and maintain this scene and in my opinion you have become a true master at what you do.
Your influence can still be felt today, even on this board. You have always been humble about your success and you open the door to teach the next generation.
Your intelligence, great personality and strong work ethics helped you build a very solid reputation that you can be extremely proud of.
I hope that you will continue to nurture your passion for the music and make a full attempt at producing! I certainly encourage you to do so. Your talent is undeniable.
Here’s to a pillar, a role-model, a perfectionist, a great DJ and well…..an awesome guy. |

2012 isnt just the end of the world, its the end of the techno scene in Montreal :(. So sad.... good things always come to an end. Its pretty crazy I have been to every single blackout except one.... probably will keep coming till the end as well.
