Lol, that trusty thing is still knocking about! I bought one as well as my first mixer.
Little beauty. Highly recommend it! Still have it knocking about as my reserve mixer in case my 92 goes up.

You don't think that -44db is going to be enough of a cut in the e.q.? I can assure you that A&H have some of the cleanest e.q.s out there and the provided cut is more than enough for anyone's needs, especially when combined with the VCF.

If you are going to go looking for a used Vestax, I'd take a PMC-270A over the PVC-275 any day. Vestax's builds got cheaper and cheaper as they outsourced their manufacturing to China - the earliest "A" models were much closer to original specs than later versions.

@PivotTechno - hmm.. i'll do a little digging and decide between those two -- thanks for the suggestion.

and i need -inf db more for comfort than actual use. i'm not proficient enough on the decks to comfortably eq with leaking basslines and highs

Sorry PT, but you're talking .

I've owned both those mixers over the years (also a current vestax owner as well) and the PCV is virtually identical to the PMC apart from the faders were upgraded on the PVC as well as a couple of minor cosmetics things.

Yes, Vestax stopped making their stuff in Japan but the advantage of the PCV having far more robust faders (that basically never die or leak), greatly outweighs the build quality issue on a mixer that only cost $300 retail when new. It's not like it was one of the install mixers from vestax.

Go with either the PMC or PCV, but I reckon you'd be better off with the PCV as you're going second hand, and chances are won't need to replace the faders. if it's been looked after (you will with the PMC unless they've been replaced recently).
