Expedia et al. are ing , half the time they don't even book your stuff properly.

Check out www.momondo.com; it will tell you where the cheap flights are, then just go to that airline's site and buy them direct.

do your research. sometimes websites are cheaper, sometimes they aren't. there is no "one" site that will always be the winner.

I'm using them & have just paid $700 for a rtn trip including extra-legroom seats. Just using July as an example, the flights to london are around $350 inc taxes. For Paris back, consider booking a return from london and using the eurostar or something, or check air frances' website.

just booked. leaving from toronto to London, then returning from venice. paid air transat $1000. ryanair is cheap there. so the trip looks like this:

London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Munich, Rome (assis, pisa, etc.), Milan, Venice and then home. if i have time i may go to capri islands and/or my cousins apartment on the beach in calabria

I use Amadeus.net for flights as it's the same system that many travel agents use and it draws on pretty much all the airlines, except Southwest.

Better sharpen up on your contortionist skills, they've notoriously tight seats in their back cabin.

one of the problems with priceline is that 4 star hotels often offer fewer amenities than you would expect of a normal hotel. $25/night parking, no free internet or breakfast, an expensive hotel restaurant...

I agree there is not much if any price difference between booking sites.

That is the difference between the middle of a city and near the airport. Some great hotels I been to have been next to airports.
Residence inn, four points sheraton. As long as you have a car its very worthwhile.

Staying in the middle of the city they don't expect you to bring a car(i.e. 40.night parking in boston . ) and also eat in their expensive hotel/restuarant!! There are places around which can be less $$ to eat anyways.

Nobody has ever said that before :D

I think the only decent hotel that is considered an airport hotel is the Sofitel at LHR.

Three examples:

1. Toronto-missisugauae??? lol: Residence inn, Free hot breakfast buffet, free parking and the rooms come with a kitchen with silverwear(Firdge, sink, microwave) 20 min drive from DT Toronto.
90/night

2. Chicago: Forgot the name atm, Free parking, free hot breakfast buffet, 20 min from downown drive. (cheap and decent)

3. New Orleans: Shearton four points. Great room(bathroom was sick), free parking, free computers, next to a nice inexpensive yet worth it diner and 20 min from downtown.

I do some research but if I have to stay downtown I will just have to bite the bullet on parking if I have a car.

My flights are usually codeshared (or something) by transat, but run by thomas cook on behalf of CA, and they're comfortable. Simple but you don't need too many fancy things, last time we got free water, a meal, an ice-cream snack later on, and then scones/jam/tea later on too. I've not been on any actual air transat flights outright though. On the 3-3-3 layout, i've found my favourite seats though, towards the back it goes down to 2-3-2 as it narrows but the first row of those has quite a bit of extra room to the left of it. I sat on it sideways on my way home last year :o However this time they were booked so i've paid for an exit seat. Bit narrower but lots of kkicking forwards room & I'm great at slouching out.
