I doubt that they would allow anyone to go outside in a storm. I imagine it would be treated the same as an amusement park ride. If it's raining, thunder and lightening, or in some cases way too windy, they would shut it down.

That's guaranteed. Even though you'll have to sign some kind of death certificate, they wouldn't let anyone take those type of chances.

I wonder if you can get stupid up there like pretending to jump or swing out with the tether making a semi circle with your feet in mid air! They'll prob warn us not to do like that.

I will stick to "Dinner in the Sky"

It is not as high, but at least I can be intoxicated before I hit the ground lol

I have seen that on TV before. Do you know where they have that?

So will the people participating in this be protected against lightning strikes? I guess if there is a risk of a thunderstorm, they will just shut it down until the thunderstorm passes...

I'm sure they'd shut it down but I doubt either way there'd be much risk of getting hit by lightning. It always looks for the shortest route from the sky to anything grounded and seeing as how this is only 2/3 up the tower you'd have a solid buffer zone.

Looks like the lowest it's ever hit is 13 metres below the tip:
quote:
The researchers recorded 404 flashes over a 15-year period, 16 of which struck the building five to 70 metres below its tip. "It's good to know the probability of the tower being struck beneath the tip and how far below," says the professor. In May 1976, the tower was struck once by lightning 13 metres below its tip causing $25,000 in damages but there has been no lightning damage to the structure since its official opening almost two months later.

Did you do the ones in Monteverde? Apparently those ones are the craziest! The day we did them it was really rainy and foggy. They were so fast b/c the wire was slippery and you could barely see where you were going on some of them. It was exhilarating!

Yep! That's exactly where we were, in the Monteverde Cloud Forest! It's apparently the original zip line, and I think it was a total of 7000 yards too with 15-20 platforms. Was such a amazing experience!

Seriously! What happened to common sense. Are these real questions people are asking?

Yup, that's the one we did too!! One of the best experiences of my life. Did you do that rope swing too? You can see me in right at the top there. lol

We went on the suspension bridges afterward. They were really cool, but not what I was expecting. I thought they would be those wooden bridges like in Indian Jones. These were a lot more stable and secure. lol

Yeah we did the rope too! I actually have a vid on FB of myself on the swing, and some cool vids of the zip line too.

Yeah, after the zip line...the suspension bridge just wasn't very exciting!!!

I wonder if you have to pick a specific date/time when you buy advanced tickets. It'd suck to have your time canceled due to weather.
