It's a joke and a long time rivalry between Devils n Rangers. Its just something that we (fans) do.
I can't stand the flyers and their fans though
You realize i posted that comment way before the news about his death?
I had no idea up until 3 mins ago when you posted it on FB.

Stop it.
Lundqvist, Gaborik, Pronger, Richards, Briere. Callahan, Dubinsky, Giroux, JVD as the young guys. Guys who can ing speak English, unlike Ovechkin, Malkin and Semin.
Also the Flyers have that tough aura around them. Fans would absolutely want to see them in a series. |
:stongue: :stongue:
Dude, you really think hockey fans across the country give a about Gaborik, Dubinsky, Giroux, Pronger, Briere, or Callahan?? That's not "star-power", that's called "local draw". People, including me and millions of other viewers, were generally interested in looking into the locker rooms with Ovechkin, Semin, Green, and Boudreau, or Crosby, Malkin, and Bylsma in it. Honestly, aside from Lundqvuist (and even that's a stretch), I'm not sure any of the players are in anyway intriguing to the out-of-town fans..
Not to mention, ask around the rest of the country, everyone hates the Flyers, their fans, and most of their players. It's not just a New Jersey thing.. |

| In other news, the passing of Boogaard is really really shocking. I'm afraid to find out what the cause was; no matter what it was, it won't be good for hockey... |

Crosby is the most hated player in the league and the Penguins are the most hated team.
Avery is also on the Rangers. For years sports media, commentators and fans have begged for someone to put an uncensored mic on him. Pronger is a legitimate tough guy too.
HBO isn't going to cancel the series because your crosstown rival is in it. |

haha You're so off-base, dude, it's not even funny, it's borderline frustrating. Please don't tell me that you don't think millions of teens and kids all over the country look up to Crosby as their idol. He has the highest selling stick and skates on the market. There's a reason NBC's "Game of the Week" is usually a Capitals or Penguins game. You literally have no idea what you're talking about. The fact that you actually think everyone hates Crosby, but somehow there's widespread interest in seeing Sean Avery or Chris Pronger behind the scenes, is clear evidence of this.

They're not "cancelling" anything. 24/7 is usually a one-time special, not something HBO has pledged to do every year.
Look, obviously the game itself is going to be a sell-out, it's going to be physical, and many people around the East are going to watch it; it's probably going to be entertaining. But for you to think that an HBO 24/7 series of it would get good ratings is way off-base.
The Sedins and Luongo (Vancouver), LeCavelier, Stamkos, and St. Louis (Tampa Bay), or the Red Wings would easily draw the excitement of fans to watch a 24/7 series. The players of both Philly or New York do NOT have that kind of draw or "aura", for lack of a better word. People are really not that interested.. |

LOL this!
Even though Crosby can be a bitch, he's def not hated.
Avery is the most hated player and flyers are the most hated team by everybody.
Rangers are just a sensationalized team because they're from NYC. If they were from anywhere else, they wouldn't have such a big "fake fan following" |

Doubt they're gunna do a 24/7 next year; this year's was a no-brainer because of the Ovechkin/Crosby hype magnet. But no one would really watch a Rangers/Flyers version, no offense of course, but neither team has any HBO nation-wide star-power. |
Like it or not, the Rangers are one of the NHL's marquis franchises. Think about how many times they're the national game of the week on NBC. Against the Flyers equals huge draw. Didn't realize 24/7 was only a one shot thing, so they probably won't do another one. But don't kid yourself, people would watch. I hate the Flyers, but HBO did a great special about the Broad Street Bullies that was really very good. |

Don't know if I agree with this. Rangers have some of the most loyal fans in the league. Even Mike Francessa, who gives hockey no respect said the Rangers have the best fans in NY. |

I agree on the Loyal Fans
I'm talking about the bandwagon fans. OMG Rangers are winning and are from NYC, lets cheer for them cause we dont know better.
I have seen this many times, just because it has NYC attachment with it. |

They're an Original Six team just like Chicago and Detroit and in a huge market. Just the way it is. NBC and the NHL are only gonna put teams on there that draw a national audience and anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional. |
