For a second I nearly believed you Ted Promo. Then came the craziness. You must be on drugs half the time cause the stuff you write is just too out there. Simon Patterson, Terra Cotta Pots, tribal tatoos? Are you as crazy in person as you are on here?
Ted Promo
Normally, I was more of an aficionado or, as they say in some colloquial districts, a connoisseur of teardrop music. This involved, more often than not, synths that would tug at hearstrings like the plucking of the harps in the distant realms of heaven. Each tug emanating from the acts of goodwill, centered in the rave culture burgeoning in the forests of western India (in an oasis known as Goa) and in the silvery island of Ibiza draped in the saccharine sheen of sheets of methyl and ether. When ideas converge into a wholeness only tempered by the search for the next club. The next taped off area of white sand beach. The next secluded beat hovel buried deep within under the canvas canopy of an alien and ancient wood.

Cosmic Gate gets me. And I am rather certain that I get them. What with the hustle and bustle of my every day, I can usually turn on any particular album or pulsing song by them and be jettisoned back to a far-removed moment of tapered delight in the helix of the most poignant idea I had ever concocted on a variety of banned chemicals. Supple feelings course over me when I hear a track like Human Beings. I get transported to one of the aforementioned locales (sometimes by force, sometimes by a hedonistic calling akin to the mermaids on the eroding rocks of Homer's epic), warped into a spot of either rhythmic dance or arcane pleasure. Each vein dilates as I prepare for the fullness of each subsequent experience.

All of this in my chair that I got from Office Depot on clearance for like $97. My cat has since scratched the ever living out of it. Well, my three to four cats. I don't know why. I mean, I get my fair share of both swampass and mudbutt so you'd think they'd find it at least mildly repulsive or at the verrrry least repellent and uncouth, but nope.

Whatever though, I digress.

I'm just seeing a lot of potential here is all I'm really trying to get at. These guys have tapped in to me and then made me tap out. They planted a seed and then with their lasers I can photosynthesize. Beats mean nothing to me any more. It's all the harpsichord of each melody, whether heavily oscillated or performed under the ephemeral and prescient duress of the saw-toothed gate. It all means something to me, and with my higher brow of cortex I would think it would make a satisfying calling to many more (youth or otherwise).

We all need to grow up, but to do so sometimes we need Cosmic Gate.

Anyone know where I can get some ecstasy before I read Ted Promo's posts?
Ted Promo
Oh, that? I have plenty of that. Veritably swimming. I also have the spirit molecule.

I must say, your writing do have a sense of uniqueness to them. lol Do you spend a lot of time writing these things, or does it just come to you? If you wrote a book of your writings, I'd buy it. Of course, then I'd have to buy the drugs to really understand it. If you come to Cosmic Gate, I will show up to listen to your stories while the music takes me on the journey you convey to me. Do we have a deal?
Ted Promo
If I can divulge my appearance at this event in my i-ching I scrawl out tomorrow I will then appropriate and then allocate that information here for our deciphering. We can see if it's in the cards, so to speak. Taking a quantum look into the possible and probable outcomes of such a happenstance.

I feel that this and only this can truly determine the Tao of such an occasion.
Ted Promo
I must spend this night formulating and mentally propagating the question I shall ask.

Channel the hexagrams. Tunneling. Pray for me.

I hope people show up to this.

When I went to see Cosmic Gate at their first ATL appearance on a Wednesday in 2009 at Opera, the place was DEAD. They only had one bar open in the main room. I mean, the set was good, but there was nobody there. Then again, it was an event Opera threw without Liquified, which was likely part of the problem.

Cosmic Gate's popularity has jumped a bit in the last couple of years, though, so hopefully the turnout will be better for this. I know a few of my friends are going, and they rarely go out, so that's a good sign.

I remember a handful of people couldn't come because the date was literally changed a week before hand. It was originally a Thursday, and I know a good ~6 people said the change to Wednesday just threw them completely off. I was one of those people. :(

I'm not sure how many other people were probably thrown off. But if half a dozen people I know couldn't make it cause of the date change, then I gotta figure some other people probably couldn't either. I expect a decent showing this time. It's been scheduled for a Saturday for like 2 months now.

I know I may be the odd man out here, but I would have preferred the Thursday show. I just don't care to be at a club on Saturday where half the people will just be the normal clubbing crowd. Plus, I don't know how it works, but if they play until 5 am, I just don't know if I care to do that.

Let me emphasize, quad is not opera so you dont have that "normal" clubbing crowd.

You even been to the Quad yet Zach? Much better venue than Opera. You don't have those clubber types that are there just to be there.
