Isn't the Illuminati some sort of higher order of the Freemasons?

I didn't see illuminati symbolism here.

I saw a pyramid/triangle which is a common symbol of empowerment, used alternately with a circle. There was one small cut where it looked like pieces of dollar bills but that may as well have been related to the message of female empowerment as well.

Make no mistake, there are all-female secret societies and what not, business sisterhoods and the like.

What I don't get though is how you can have a 100 women on stage dressed like prostitutes and sing about female empowerment. I mean fine, you can say 'they dress that way for themselves', but in origin that look was developed for the male gaze, and obviously it's still meant to attract that. In effect it plays right into what men want women to be, and then seduces people into celebrating it.

not from beyonce, anyway

none of those women have bodies that represent real women. if you want to be revolutionary, put women of every shape and size on the stage in underwear.

edit -

being a sex object is empowering for some women - for example, if you have the right look you can be photographed and make more in an hour than some people make in a month, and then do whatever the you want.

in many cases that's unrealistic for women, though, and i think it sets insecure women with body image issues up for a lot of grief and anxiety.

Empowerment is doing what you really want to do regardless of what anyone says. And sexiness comes from the inside, from being comfortable with yourself and in tune with your body, not how well you can shake your ass or how tall your heels are.

Raunch feminism is about as empowering for women as a whole as gangster rap is to black people as a whole. It's narrow in scope and only permits a few to rise to equality, at the cost of the rest.

edit 2 - also, raunch feminism perpetuates oppositional sexist attitudes towards gender which over transgender people.
