Traktor Pro 2 BPM jumping
View this Thread in Original format

Hey guys,

quick question here:

I just got the new Traktor and have it connected to a Xone 62 and two SL-1200 MK5's with control vinyl. Everything works well, except that the BPM keeps moving. It won't remain steady. Never had this issue with the older version.

Anybody have this happen to them and knows a fix?

Thanks!

The BPM counter or the BPM?

the actual pitch fader in Traktor won't stay still. It jiggles. It's weird. And the BPM doesn't jump wildly, I'd say within a 0.5% range or less.

And I can't get Serato because I already have all the hardware for Traktor:p

is it affecting the mix? tsp1 the numbers move a lot, but then it is showing to 3 decimal place so instant values look all over the place but it's still solid enough

Yea I was actually mixing last night for a bit and managed pretty well. I guess it doesn't affect the mix a whole lot but still a bit annoying nonetheless. With TSP 1 it used to move within about a +/- 0.03 BPM range. Now it's worse. Anyway I was told that a new update fixes that so I'll try later.

looks like you made the wrong purchase. traktor = more bugs than on my penis.

sell it:p

I'd like to at least try it out first. A mate's supposed to come by with his Serato stuff one of these days so I'll get a good feel for it then. I just really like the layout for Traktor.

We're not having one of these discussions again. SL3 and Traktor are both good quality units. It's been widely agreed that the audio8/4 had better sound quality than the SL1.

I haven't switched completely over to TSP 2 yet, i'm still using TSP1 when it comes to playing out etc. It's been solid for me during the last 2/3 years of using it in clubs (touch wood)..

You'll always have teething problems at the start until you're able to iron out small little problems you might encounter.

I'd have a go on Serato see what you think of it when you get a chance. But wouldn't give up on Traktor just yet, the answers to a lot of the questions you have are on the forums (NI) but it just takes a little time to find them some times.
