So aside from whatever you think of his musical talent this guy has really shown some morals when it comes to events and promoters. Since his NYE fiasco he's cancelled 2 gigs that I've heard about where he discovered promoters were working in cahoots with scalpers. One was a month ago and I forget deets but I believe it was in Europe. Then today he posted this on FB for his Canada Day gig in the Muskokas:

Good on him... Wish more artists (cheese or not cheese) used their clout to call out some of the shadier promoters in this industry. And we all know there's no shortage of them. The cancellation is impressive but the gig for free even more so. |

sounds like NYE at 99 Sudbury all over again...
gig was cancelled at the 11th hour due to promoters overselling tix. he gave everyone a refund and scheduled a free show the next week... too bad my new years eve was a bust. |

girl, he wasn't responsible for any of the refunds, the promoters were :\ a lot of ppl never saw their money again |
