[Free track] Storyteller - Early Morning Rush by Storyteller

I'm totally stuck with this one and quite eager to finish it because I really dig the vibe that is going on. Does anyone have any ideas or similar tracks that might inspire me?

:)

Sounds nice. Can suggest anything right now but if I think of anything ill let post again.

A slow chord progression of your choice...
MSZ
sick track. is that a comb filter on a piece of the pad?

for a suggestion, i would say try a Roger martinez production.

Sound really cool so far, I can see this to be a nasty and great House track but easily can be turn into a minimal Industrial or Techno/Electro one - lots of opportunities with this one - massive!!!

It's nice, but the only thing coming to mind are potentially tension killing improvisations, I'd want to overlay on your music bed. Not that I couldn't work something out that would contribute to it, but I still don't think that would be in the direction you're going with it.

I like how it sounds so far, but why do you have to compress it so much?

I could imagine some synth stabs, something that helps the groove along...and then a lead to really define the track.
Raphie
might be me, but i find it boring, a drumloop, a resonant pad and an uplifter, not much yet to tuck into right?

would indeed go for a slow progression some twinkly arps or something.

Can hear the quality right away. The movement I especially like. Maybe a bit of variation in the first bit would help, but obviously my subjective opinion. Nice mixdown, basically perfect. Cool groovy percs. Like Raphie says, maybe a little boring, but such a solid foundation grabs your attention, so looking forward to hearing where it goes.

ARGH. For some reason I didn't download that one when I got it on promo. What a track, great suggestion!

Edit: And no it's just a couple of pads being high and lowpassed (so bandpassed essentially) with a butterworth 8n filter (48dB slope) ran through an amp simulator, delay, voxengo msed, a compressor to shave of resonant spikes and then a bit of ducking/sidechaining.

Thanks. The compression doesn't sound that harsh to me (personal preference I guess). It is rather loud all in all but that's mostly the way it's been mixed. The compressor might be off a bit but it says it only adds 1dB overall, I have no clue how accurate that indication might be though.

this tune might be a lot darker but i think tbasslines have similarities :)

super track btw, really like it :)

The song grows nice in sound to the 1.16 mark, solid drums, and very uplifting pads and noise, but the drop is disappointing it looses all energy you grew up.

Hi pass everything and Introduce a new element at 1:11, then build more tension, and throw all the meat.

This happens when a producer thinks in a linear way, taking care only of the mix and how it sounds, is better to have an idea of the main groove an then build it up.
