Questions about getting into a couple Vegas clubs

I will be in LV during Fourth of July weekend for a couple friends' bdays and we are thinking about the various clubs we could visit. I don't know the LV club scene very well and would appreciate your comments.
(1) Gareth Emery @ Marquee on Friday, July 1st: (http://www.marqueelasvegas.com/even...h-emery-july-1/)
One of the bday gals won't fly into Vegas until 10:45pm. If we buy presale tickets for this event, arrive at the club at midnight, and have an even guy/girl ratio, how long can we expect to wait in line?
(2) Rain on Saturday, July 2nd: (http://rain-20110702.eventbrite.com/)
Is getting the "VIP All Access Wristband" ($68) instead of the "GA All Access Pass" ($45) worth it? How much faster would we get into the club? What is the best time to arrive at the club on such a busy weekend?
Thanks in advance. |

since it is a long weekend, might be a little more crowded than usual..
1. honestly if you have pre-sales go using the 4th floor pool entrance, i've used it twice with a group of all guys and have gone in with virtually no line or hassle. there MIGHT be a line to pick up the pre-sale tickets at night on the first floor (i always get mine during the day)
2. ive only had GA tickets, but the entrance to Palms is a cluster*uck..can't help you with that one but i THINK if you have the vip bracelets you will get in fairly easily. |

| believe the ratio only applies to guestlists, and not presale.so you shouldn't have any trouble. |

Very good to know. I'm not used to worrying about such things. |

Are presales available for pickup during the late afternoon and early evening (say, 6pm-8pm)? |

You won't wait in any line if you buy presales :) |

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I think we are going with GE at Marquee.
Typically, what time does Marquee close and what time does the main DJ usually come on?
Also, the Marquee website states that "gentlemen must wear a collared, button-up shirt and dress shoes." Does this mean a long-sleeve dress shirt is mandatory, or is a short-sleeve dress shirt fine? Also, are jeans fine? |

| Best bet is usually to go super early, get a stamp, leave and go back when the headliner goes on.... |
