Not everyone is perfect. This guy died by the actions of his stupidity, and here everyone is calling him a douchebag, , piece of like as if now it matters...Call me soft, but ill have a bit more class then to sit here and judge someone who already paid the ultimate price for his mistake. |
Thank you!
Some of you need to get off your high horses and express a little empathy. Christ! |

| Dunno, guess I got a bit of a grudge but I lost a childhood friend cause she got hit by a drunk driver. If that makes me a bad person cause I wish guys like this that get caught in the public eye receive negative feedback for it, then so be it. Not saying it's going to end drunk driving but yes I think this guy getting trashed all over gives people a subconscious notion that drinking and driving is not just another stunt of Dunn's but something very dangerous and socially unacceptable. |

I'm sorry, what? Empathy for what? A drunk idiot who endangered himself, his passenger(s) and fellow drivers just cos he felt like getting tanked that day?
Everyone should be held responsible for their actions - and people need to stop and THINK about that for a minute. |

Wow is all I have to say about your lack of empathy, and quite frankly also lack of class when approaching the topic of a deceased PERSON**. The guy had a family, and friends who cared for him. The guy was a genuinely nice guy, who made bad decisions. No need to crucify him and drag his name through the mudd by saying " him". He can't defend himself and your words may be causing pain to those who may already be in enough of it as a result of this incident. It does not bode well to speak ill of the dead. He made a bad decision, he paid for it, end of story. At the end of the day, he deserves to be at peace. |

A genuinely nice guy, whose actions killed a passenger of his car - yup, a super awesome dude indeed. I don't think it would have bothered me as much if he was the only one involved in the car crash. |

i am sure you do many things that are not fully on the up and up or at least you know that you benefit from the fruits of crime. |

also, do you think the other guy wasn't drunk? he could have chosen to not get in the car. who really knows anyways. i wish that their families wouldn't have to suffer for these mistakes. |

The best part is ask half of people's parents on this board if they've ever drank and drive or still do. It was way more common among our folks back in the day. Would you stand up and tell them what douches they are for doing that??
And your comment about if it were a friend or family member I think is spot on. People definitely wouldn't be all high and mighty running their mouths about it like they've never done anything wrong in their life, lol.
Get over it and stop being dicks. He has a family and friends too regardless of who he is... RESPECT!!!

IMO people are looking at this in very black and white terms. How about we venture into some grey area?
The fact of the matter is, the guy did make a poor decision. When you do something that endangers only yourself (ie: perhaps you are doing drugs, home on the couch, chillin to some music) you are aware of the risks, however is your own choice because it only affects you if you die (less the emotional harm done on the family). These types of instances are sad, but rarely illicit angry outbursts from society because he didnt decide to string anyone else along for the ride to the cemetery.....
BUT, once you start endangering others, thats when the emotional climate changes.
I will never, ever stoop to the callous statements, because he is indeed, still a young person who unfortunately has left a lot of people in great pain. He appeared to be a great guy, and it is really unfortunate that his stupidity has lead to this.......People ought to *respect* the grieving family and the loss of a young man, even if the *sympathy* is not there.
Respect, Sympathy: two different words, two different meanings.
I respect and am saddened for the family, and even Ryan Dunn as a young man before this decision making lead him to an early grave. But my sympathy is extremely little. He not only made the bad decision on his own behalf, but he was potentially making the decision for others out on the road that night: that he would be drinking, driving, and possibly coming their way. HE DIDNT RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE THAT DECISION FOR OTHERS! I am thankful that no one crossed his car's path.... |
