Was thinking about going on Labor day weekend slso but it seems to be the same cheese performers that come out during any major holiday, at least in Vegas. I don't mind sucking it up but its kinda hard while knowing Electric Zoo is happening at the same time.

But besides EDM events, what else goes on in Vegas during that week?

(I've only been to Vegas as a kid).

southwest is running $40 flights right now but their site is getting hammered (obviously not available Friday, Sunday, and Sep 1,5,6...)

I'm not seeing much on that list that is making me want to come out for Labor day, so far.

I got $49 flights from burbank in april. I was not aware SW didn't have fees to cancel/ change flights up until recently so booked early. Im going to check if I qualify for a refund :-) The list will grow into something similar if not bigger than mdw... After all there wasnt another big festival for vegas to draw from during mdw(techno event doesn't count) the palms, marquee, tao, amg, nikki beach, liquid pool etc will have a lot going on. Plus I think the identity festival is in vegas that weekend too.

As of yesterday my flight was $100 more than I paid for it, and hotel was $190 more. Start booking your rooms for edc 2012. right now you're paying triple if you can even find a room.

I can't really understand why people from LA/SB/SD fly to vegas - by the time you've traveled to the airport, got there an hour before, checked in, fly for 1 hour and then travel from the airport to the strip it's the same time as driving.

I just got back last night and did LV to Hollywood in under 4 hours. It took one tank of gas which is $50.

It's also great to have your car there as well, as it saves you a bunch on Taxis. You can always leave the car at wherever you got drunk at an get it next day if needed. Some of the those traffic lights on the strip are juts a money making devices for the cab industry. I timed the one outside the ballagio - it's literally 8 mins! And that means $4.25 for
just that set of lights, let alone if there's traffic.

So what else is there to do during the week in vegas?

1, The pools are seriously good to chill out during the day.
2, The food is pretty ing outstanding. You'll pay through the nose but then again, it's not like you eat like that every night.
3, Go watch a show. O is ing wicked (the rest are too dated and lame) and apparently the Jabawokeez are good too.

holiday weekends tend to bring in more traffic, so there goes 4 hours. Also the commute back is a pain after 3 days of partying. Shoot i dont think ive ever stayed awake the entire drive back, i feel bad for our buddy who winds up driving each time.

From arrival to burbank 1 hr prior to take off, 1 hour flight its more like 2.5 hour trip, thats a 1.5 hours less than the drive. Plus you have restrooms handy at all times :D

Oh and you get to earn rapid rewards credits. :toocool:

the flight for sat- tue can be had for $110 right now on southwest or $103 on jetblue.

Great alternative to driving it solo.

now how about those lineups??

Yes i was referring to deadmau5 and the location of his shows(chelsea) figured the ta's would have figured out i was listing the artist and the venue. since i wrote marquee, tao beach, encore beach, joint, etc.

Oh, if it's solo then fair enough - that drive can be a bit of a chore, but I've been to LV at least a dozen times from LA and never once flown as every time I look in to it, it's going to cost more and take longer. It would take an hour to get to either LAX or Burbank in LA traffic, then wait 1 hour for the flight, then a 1 hour flight, then at least 1hr to get to the strip so there's no way it takes less than 4 hours.

And hang on, there's not way you can do Santa Barbara to burbank in less than 1.5 in clear open road, let alone traffic :conf:

I suppose I just make sure I never travel in on a Friday night or leave on a Sunday afternoon - you're just asking for a bitch of a drive if you do.

Actually, how is Kascade? Never seen him DJ before and I know it's going to be a cheesefest, but I have to admit it's a guilty pleasure and his tracks are so damn well produced.
