I certainly think you're ing stupid, Existo. And there is plenty of great trance still being made, and no chance that you'll ever find it.

That's how a thinker's (as opposed to a believer's) mind works, constantly adapting and changing her mind as she's exposed to new informations and perspectives.
Wait, so you're fine being illogical? :conf:

It is how they express this snobbery that becomes a problem. Like how enydo said that they should kidnap BTs daughter. That is not acceptable. It is despicable, absolutely uncalled for and warrants a ban right there. Talking about somebody's little daughter on the internet. http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...5680&forumid=1&
NOT ACCEPTABLE ^
In all honesty this is beginning to become disturbing. I find nothing civil in laughing about the unfortunate kidnapping of somebody's daughter on a public message board. Have some compassion. If it makes you guys feel good to laugh at tragic events in peoples life maybe you should get a job working for some reality TV production company and save this board for people who actually like dance music.
Be happy.
I hope someone kidnaps you and all of your children and your family and then takes all of you and BT's daughter and does something... despicable.
I'm glad you're back btw, I pretty much get a full-on raging boner every time I see you post, and it takes all my willpower to keep from kidnapping you myself. I'd take you against your will over and over with the MERCURY AND SOLACE vinyl playing in the background.
I dunno if the vinyl is a good idea though... I mean, I'd have to keep stopping my rhythm and flow to set the stylus back. An MP3 would do much better, endless looping.

I hope they force you to listen to hipster music for hours.
Light The Fuse
i woke up this morning and realised something. nothing at all matters. life is totally meaningless. there is no good, there is no bad - only the perception we put to everything. and when you die - your perception dies.
its actually awesomeley liberating.
as you were.

This thread is great. erroneous point primarily made, transitioning to a lateral discussion about common sense

Well, I don’t know what to say after a tirade like that... god I better hire some personal security. :stongue: Never underestimate the wrath of a man with two zebras as his avatar. One zebra is enough to show that you are fairly hardcore, but two? That can only mean one thing and one thing only: bad mother-******

Enydo your interaction with other human beings here leaves something to be desired. I recommend that you nurture your spiritual side. You know... turn to religion or something.:stongue: Steer clear from the hardcore stuff like Christian-Fundamentalism and instead turn to something lighter like...the uniterian church! The great thing about this is that the priest pretty much has to be kind to you, or he’s not doing his job.

I think the more one tries to rationalize taste, the more one feels encapsulated by our own rationalizations of what our taste should be - preventing us from enjoying things that may be on the frontiers of our taste. And then we project this nonsense into others, antagonizing them for the slightest of irrelevant disagreements over taste.
In other words, off everyone, stop worrying about this .

Well said. I personally think there is no such thing as a mature taste or high brow music. Face it, guys. There are people who have genuine reasons and all rights to enjoy any sort of sequence of vibration, even if that sequence of vibrations is something you consider to be the incarnation of the devil.

Is there really any semblence of a logical thrust in all of these posts, or are you just trying to come up with as many ways as possible to defend your music tastes? I find it instructive that people on this forum who are insecure about their tastes, usually the trance kids, always resort to these generalised rebuttals, whether it's "you're just jealous" or some conceptual abstraction of the entire notion of "taste". You never, for example, just take each point as it comes and consider it on its own merits.
"High brow" and "mature" are very different things. "High brow" has strong connotations of elitism and canonisation, it refers to a constructed body of culture that is deemed more worthwhile than others. And so yes, there is an element of favouritism and snobbery that is not always justified, and you can see that in action on TA. However, you're only making this argument because you only listen to trance. If you had any persespective on the wider music scene, you'll know that trance and progressive have little elitist currency. You're not going to see any trance appear in The Wire, or even on Pitchfork (arguably a more middle-brow tastemaker).
As for mature taste, well you're 17. You've not been listening to music for very long, and for most of your life your neural functions have been literally immature and in development. If you think your personality, your beliefs and your tastes now are anything more than utterly transient and incomplete, well... that's because you're 17. You don't know . Your tastes are going to move on a hell of a lot yet, and you're going to look at a lot of your old tastes with exactly the disparagement you're currently railing against.
