Either way they are both my friends and I thank them every day for helping me educate all the people on this planet that are cluess on what we all love so much...............dance music!

Yes, they are nice guys. When I heard them play at Circus they were playing funky disco house which I can always appreciate it. Not too many DJs can pull off funky sounds well and they did a good job. |

they play so commercial that they do bring in a crowd that are amateurs in house music, per se. and yes thats good.
but that does not give them the right to give outright lies.
nice or not (and ive heard consistently they are nice people) they have still done two outrageous claims that I have personally seen:
1) "EC Twins have brought house music back to los angeles"
2) "EC Twins are LA's Biggest Names"
i was also there when Demi was kicked out by them. also, when they were residents of Ecco, Ive seen them disrespect and not properly open (playing with peaktime BPM so they get all the acclaim) for 3 headliners - Ben Watt, Mark Farina and Doc Martin. After that, Ive always just decided to smoke outside until they've finished before I go to the dancefloor if ever I went to Ecco.
Of course, nowadays, Melodic has gone to crap and they just replaced EC Twins with some fellas and nothing has changed, maybe except Danny B doesnt bring headliners anymore on Wednesdays.
again, at the end of the day, these extreme over the top claims are what''s wrong IMO. |

I had never seen these guys before, had heard some hype and stuff, so I went to check them out. My guess is the guy who wrote this article may not be a true EDM fan. I saw them in the Heineken Dome on Saturday and it was a fun performance, not the best stage though. I was at the front and witnessed the silence, it was very brief and happened when a few people climbed on to up the booth to high five the DJ's. I mean, if the ec twins deserve blame for the silence, it was for encouraging the crowd to climb on the booth, but I thought it was a nice touch and showed they appreciated the crowd. I checked them out on the second day for one reason only..., after their performance they stood with the crowd, talked to everyone and had pictures taken with everyone and then they walked in to the audience (not a vip section) and watched the other acts. I thought that was pretty legit and they were suuuuper nice to me and my friends. The second day was for my money, one of the best performances of the entire festival. I mean, Oaky and Above and Beyond blew my mind and SHM were ace, but it was the most unique performance I saw. My favorite DJ is still RANK1, but these two are my favorite characters and I am looking forward to seeing them again. |
