Since there are no Mexico forums, I though this might be a good place to ask:
Does anyone know where I can find a schedule of DJs playing in Mexico City / what to expect in regards to the clubbing experience there? Which ones are the good EDM clubs?
I was thinking about going there for about a month's worth of time so I'd like to know before actually going there...
It does not have to be in English, although it is preferred... Thanks in advance! |

I just moved to Mexico City and I'm amazed, from sick clubs to amazing Pool Parties on Sundays'
You will not find too much Trance, it's more about minimal and progressive house,
Hernan Catenneo is here 7/15

The best website to browse for events in Mexico City would be www.comunidadelectronica.tv |

The majority of what you hear in the news does not take place in Mexico City.
Also, remember that the media never tells you the good stuff going on in that country. From my own personal experience, when I'm outside of the states, people think that the USA is the craziest place due to the insane gun laws (which are MUCH more relaxed than in Mexico - their constant gun supplies have actually been shown to come from the USA). I remember one time while in Europe, I met some Canadians who told me they've never been to the USA and were "afraid" to go because they thought everyone owned a gun and would be shot if they were to get on someone's bad side... Why? Because of very similar propaganda in their own country...
As for the other replies, thank you! |

Propaganda aside.
Mexico City does have one of the highest kidnapping and murder rates in the world. Ironically, Phoenix and some other cities in that region on the north side of the border are up there as well (at least in kidnapping).
So honestly, if you are white and go down there clubbing and presumably flashing some cash, I wish you the best of luck and safety. |

| They have not been "shown" and the Government cannot keep tabs on all the weapons the cartels procure. Your talking about statistics from recovered guns. They ALSO get their guns from el salvador, Guatemala and several other countries. If it cannot be acquired from one place it will by another. The governments cannot keep tabs on the thousands of guns amassed by the cartels. Should lay off the CNN. And I am very aware these events dont all take place in Mexico city. I recently having been to mexico and having many friends who have homes and family and mexico and they will tell you its not propaganda its happening every day all over mexico. Beheadings,Skinnings, Police cheifs mayors and governors all being assassinated. Police stations being shot up and entire towns police forces resigning for fear of being killed. Mexico city is no where near as bad as Nuevo Laredo, Matamoros, or Juarez but still be careful im sure R2D2 will tell you mexico is different then it was 2 years ago. |

(Not for the weak stomach)
That is the one I read because its in spanish. The cartels members openly post videos and responses on that website. |

Propaganda is a form of communication that is aimed at influencing the attitude of a community (or people) toward some cause or position so as to benefit oneself.
All of that that is on there is NEGATIVE news, NOTHING positive. So how's it not propaganda?
Its all negative attention to keep Americans out of Mexico. Yes is bad, but websites like that make it seem like things are WAY worse then they are. |
