Yeah, it was pretty empty which was nice for me. Coming from the super packed Alice's House to see Arty and Gareth there was no problem getting in the area. Lots of room to move around and it was not that hot compared to last year when I saw Markus at Nocturnal. When I saw Markus it was a sauna in there! |

The Trance stage, Labrynth, has moved to what was previously the House stage, I think. It's the huge outdoor tent closest to the entrance. It was probably about 1/2 full (there were people 3/4 of the way back, but the crowd thinned out after 1/4 of the way back, so if everyone went forward toward the stage it would have been 1/2 full).
Given the huge space, that's probably more people than would have fit into the indoor stage that was used two years ago when I was there. The House stage, Alice's House, is further back to the right, and is monstrous. It was packed from front to back when Avicii was on.
The crowd was better looking and people seemed to be having more fun in the Trance stage, as usual, though. Maybe a lot of people that don't care so much about the music go to the biggest stage to be "where everyone is at." I was over there for a half hour myself for that reason.
Arty just killed it, best set of Friday night IMO! Attendance was lighter than usual on Friday night in general, no lines at the entrance gates, easy to move around once inside. This is consistent with EDC Las Vegas, when the Trance stage was half full Friday but was packed on Saturday, so we'll see what tonight holds.
Only thing I didn't like is that security kept walking across through the crowd up front from left to right of the stage. So everyone's dancing, hands in the air and then these very serious looking guys with yellow jackets and headsets are suddenly in front of you killing the buzz. I guess they're trying to make sure the crowd doesn't get too compressed up front or something?
Overall, first night was very enjoyable though, and tonight should be even better. No way the stage with Cosmic Gate can go over capacity and be closed off again with this setup (I think)! |

| 1/4 of it was packed in the front by the stage. Gareth Emery ing killed it and it wasn't even crowded. Just goes to show all the douchebags were at Avicii. |

I didn't set foot into Sunken Garden at all. As for Marco V, he was pretty good too and the visuals for his set were awesome. I went crazy when he laid down calling. |

Emma Hewitt has an amazing voice. Cosmic Gate had a pretty amazing set. The last time I caught them was the Palladium with Above and Beyond, and I always enjoy them.
Security seemed rather abusive at one point, as I saw one yank a person off the floor because he was sitting down. He grabbed the guy by the collar and literally pulled him up, telling him he can't sit. |
