I had to go from the trance tent to the VIP lounge and back to get my drink on a few times last year at Noc, and it's kinda irritating but the alcohol made me get over it pretty quick. :p

I had the same experience at last year's Nocturnal. The bar lines were short at the front/buffet area and it was all good.

At the last Beyond however, the drink lines were really long (maybe because the house tent was not free or the 1 drink limit). They were so long that I just bought my own drinks outside the VIP area so I didn't have to wait. The only plus for VIP for me at Beyond was the shorter entrance line.

I haven't been to a massive for a while and I bought a GA ticket. How much do drinks typically cost at an event like this now and how long are the lines at the bar?

VIP Amenities Include:

• 21+ hosted / open bar with a selection of beer and vodka in VIP lounge (served until 1:30am)
• 21+ full cash bar on stage view VIP deck

Can you give more details on where the VIP lounge is set up? I basically want to know if I would have to leave the mainstage area to get free drinks. If the vip lounge is located inside the mainstage area, or within 20 ft of it, I'll consider upgrading my ticket for VIP.

I really hope not. Clearly, the VIP set-up for Beyond was a failure. A number of people on this board and a few of my friends told me the VIP set-up for Nocturnal was excellent and the VIP set-up for Beyond was an absolute WTF? Why fix something that wasn't broken?

The GA drink lines at Beyond and Wonderland were pretty short and fast. Maybe 1 to 3 person wait.

That sounds pretty quick. Do you happen to know how much drinks were at the last BW and NW (beers and harder drinks)?

I don't really remember, maybe someone else can chime in. I just had a couple of cranberry vodkas and I think they were $8-$9? I didn't drink that much and I had them early because there were so many DJs I was trying to check out and I was walking back and forth between the stages most of the time.

The credit card tix arrived today :)

2 1/2 months to go.

So I'm not sure exactly what it means by saying that it's a return to "wonderland." Is the theme going to change? More emphasis on wonderland performers? I understand it was "Nocturnal Wonderland" in the past and now festival, but what effect does this truly have on the event, if any....

Second, I do really enjoy Insomniac events at NOS. I get my massive fix (sans ULTRA) traveling from FL out to LA, been to Nocturnal in 08' (where Hawtin threw down one of the sickest tech sets I've ever witnessed), EDC in 06 I think... Couple TAO's (but I think that's Go Ventures maybe???)

Anyway I'm a little worried about the line-up. We are less than 8 weeks away and Kaskade plus a few others are the only ones announced. Yeah Kaskade is great, this and that but I'm not traveling west to see Kaskade. I'm heading out to see some quality techno and house artists on a big stage, with a supportive sound system and room to dance.

Given this event is a two day affair, I'm just praying they bring in some artists that appeal to true music lovers....

just my 2 cents
