Ah why do you hate it?
I had a pretty good time but I never loved it as much as my friends who wanted to move to Japan forever, marry a Japanese person, and have Japanese babies (this was seriously what a bunch of my classmates wanted).
I know the commutes during rush hour on the train are absolute hell, all the crowds and the small streets get overwhelming and there's a lot of food you can get in the US that you can't find or is not good in Japan. (think Mexican food, etc) |

I always wanted to open up a Mexican Restaurant with my friend in Japan.
That's a million dollar idea, once people started to get used to it...it would easily take off... |

All of my Japanese friends don't like Mexican food when they visit. They don't like that kind of spicy. I'm sure if you were the only one around, you'd have a niche fan base, but as a general rule they only like asian-style spice. And even then they only really like horseradish-style spicy stuff (like wasabi). |

I went to the only authentic Mexican restaurant in the Tokyo/Yokohama area (run by a Mexican woman) the last day it was open after being open for 5 years. Was definitely a niche.
Can see that, unlike most of my friends took me a long time to appreciate most Japanese food because it was too bland for me! Haha I ate Indian food when I felt I needed more spice in my life.
Somebody opened up a Chipotle knockoff (which is clearly not authentic Mexican food) and it did so well with expats and international students.
If you were to open a legit Mexican place you'd have a lot of American expats come eat there! |

well i think the crowded subway and everything being expensive is definetly getting me. just the other day I accidentally convinced myself to go to tokyo during rush hour. almost got crushed by waves of ppl squeezin into the damn train... and now its hot as hell with all the trains keeping ac running low to conserve power, go figure.
this summer will be a crazy one. |

Skirt meat (Ranchera), two oranges, Corona beer(marinade), salt seasoning, minced onion and cilantro. Marinade for about 30mins, bam! place on grill.
