I also don't see where the hell this "societal degradation" is coming from. Our justice system functioning as it should is a negative thing? Should we automatically find anyone guilty who seems like they're guilty?
Those quotes are misleading and stupid. "Sometimes the guilty go free." Do you know that she's even guilty? No. She was found not guilty because she worked the system? Is "the system" the prosecution not having anything more than circumstantial evidence against her?
The correct verdict was handed down, and anyone suggesting that it's not fair is a moron. The system is the way it is for a reason. A lot of people seem guilty, even to a great extent, but that doesn't prove their guilt in any way, shape, or form. I would hate to live in a society where even the suspicion of guilt is enough to condemn someone as a criminal.
The real sad part is that guilty or not, that woman's life is ruined. Maybe she didn't kill her kid. Nobody knows except her, but she's going to be known as a murderer for the rest of her life even though nobody ever proved her to be guilty. The only thing wrong with all of this is the majority of people's automatic presumption of guilt. |
