LOL, thought this was pretty amusing. Now I've heard of everything.

Fly JetBlue between Burbank and Long Beach this Saturday (7/16) only! Fares are $4.00* each way so get on board quick – book now through July 16 or while supplies last. Or for $5 each way customers can also enjoy an Even More Space seat on their Carmageddon Fly-over, which includes early boarding and early access to overhead bin space as well as a spacious seat with extra legroom - limited quantity available on each flight. |

| have to give it to jetblue, their marketing team is brilliant, the gimmick they did last year w/ LB -> OAK thing was a HIT. I wish they had something from SD -> LAX though :( |

I fly into LAX at 7:40pm Friday. HOpefully the streets are OK somewhat. Don't need to take the highway to my place in LA, luckily. Hopefully they have a lack of detour signs so I can use the streets back (La Cienega or Sepulveda). They start closing ramps at 7pm, but the highway itself won't start closing until closer to 10pm. |

Yah, I know, but I dunno if it'll be local access only for the part I'd need it for (from LAX until it splits at Jefferson Blvd in Culver City). Either way, I'll prob try to slice over to La Cienega and take that upto Washington Blvd. But people who need to go from Southbay and usually hit the 10 could slice up La Cienega and catch it that way to avoid the mess (creating another mess on La Cienega) that will ensue at the 405 and the 10. We'll see. I"m prepared. |

| Moved to LA last week and I encounter this. I'm in Brentwood now, so it's right next to it all. Good thing I'm flying out to San Francisco on Sat. |

| What do you reckon? It's like a 15 minute flight for the same price as a Happy Meal at McDonald's? |

ing retarded... How long in the airport, how much more do you spend on a rental car or transportation at the destination, is that more time and money than what it would be to be stuck in traffic, or even better, find a way to avoid having to make a trip like this at all on that day?
LA is a prime example why the car is the most inefficient mode of transport and one of the reasons this country is total . |

Well I'm using my car to drive to the Bay Area before the freeway closure and staying there for the weekend, and it's going to cost me less than flying would and I can leave and come back whenever I want (as long as it's after Monday morning).
Having better public transportation would be awesome. I take the train or bus when I can. Of course, buses will be affected by this too. NYC would be affected if a major subway line was shut down for a weekend. It's not the automobile's fault, it's the fault of a reliance on one type of infrastructure.
It's also just a nice excuse to take a weekend vacation. |

I understand air transport has uses, but $4 flights from Burbank to LB... :wtf: I know its a gimick, it def costs them way more than $4 to fly someone, but still. |
