I don't know about you guys, but I LOVED the original anime movie. I hated the re-release when they over dubbed the voices for the DVD release. Hopefully this one turns to be watchable, although I don't think you could ever recreate the feeling of the first. I've also read a bunch of the comic series that started it, love them too as it goes into much more detail about everything.

Dont any of you people remember the DBZ live action movie?!?!
Anime's are not meant to be Live Action. So many limitations, thats why its better as Anime.
Besides, isnt it Leo Dicaprio Directing?! And isn't it "New" New York City?! Dont build yourselves up.... |

I really hope this is good, but have huge doubts about it all. Akira is so awesome because it's so vast, and such a twisted world. No way that live action will be able to capture the feel.
Since when did Leo Di Caprio become a director....? |

No, Jaume Collet-Serra is the director. And the film is based in NYC, and will be about a biker trying to save his friend from meedical experiments. I'm assuming they aren't going to try and actually "remake" the original Akira, but use the story as a baseline for a new film. Which I like better, cause they wouldn't have done the original any justice... |
