The Intel x25-m only goes up to 160gb it looks like, and that drive is $424. If you REALLY NEED that much space I'd probably go with this

http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Version...11525002&sr=8-6 Really though that's an absurd amount of money for a harddrive.

I would advise against upgrading your OS in the middle of a project. When I made the jump from 10.3 to 10.4 Cubase stopped working completely and all of my project files were rendered worthless. If I didn't have the bounces I would've lost the record entirely.

so how does it work? i swap al my files into an external HDD. Do i have to repurchase mac os ten lion and install again on the new ssd?

any follow-ups guys? I'm about to get a new laptop, which is gonna come pre-installed with Lion I'm guessing... I'm running an outdated logic 9 (think its 2 updates behind, since it stabilised on my system FINALLY and i didn't wanna jinx it :p ), and a heap of plugins...

Wondering if its worth trying to hack the new comp to get snowleopard on there (this looks pretty annoying to do), then Use carbon copy or something to get all my system files across... Or if Lion is fairly backwards-compatible for older software if I can just use lion...??

Get a 2010 model from the Apple refurbished store it'll be way cheaper and come with snow leopard
