I also bought 4 chocolate tartufos and a whole bunch of at a specialty market. I'm getting drunk and fat for 2 days and riding out the impending heat wave. is going to get runny my friend.
You can order the pike place canned dungeness online you know. Alaskan King Crab is on sale everywhere this week and lobster wave part 2 is in a few:D |

God, I miss fresh fish markets. Landlocked cities suck.
Some fresh-off-the-boat lobster would be amazing right now, too. |

I love crab cakes... but I rarely order them because it seems like the vast majority of restaurants that serve them can't make them for . :( |

I've noticed the same thing. I've had a few amazing crab cakes at restaurants, usually at the aforementioned Pike Place Market, but I typically have to make them myself if I want them done right. |

om nom nom i was just in rhode island on some sort of mini-vacation. got dinner one night at this restaurant on the water that had a place down below where boats docked and unloaded the lobsters. so fresh. the previous night we ate at a restaurant on an oyster farm. oysters on the half shell may very well be my favorite thing to eat - and sitting at the bar, watching them being shucked, while puttin back one beer after another was too damn nice. |

What restaurant was it? Please say The Black Pearl. I love Newport and Jamestown, Rhode Island. I think I've had the best seafood time and time again around there. My family is from up around that area and I visit every year or so. A few times I've had it like you just described- ordering Swordfish and they're like, "The boat will be here in 20 minutes if you can wait," to which I say "hell yes".
Edit: if someone has a good crab cake recipe please share. |

took this at the oyster bar:

and since we're on the topic of fresh food - i found these in my backyard last week -

they're chanterelles, or pfifferling as I've known them since I was a little kid. really, really tasty mushrooms :D |

I don't think that was the restaurant, but I'll see if I can dig up the name of the place. |
