Maybe the young TAs could use the advice?

Ah, who am I kidding. We all learn better from experience anyways.

people are inherently bad. We're trained to be good, but we're trained mostly by incompetents and idiots, which means most people have their bad seeping out through the cracks in the layering of good...

Its naive to think people are good; take a look around. There are some good people, but they're the exception. Further, they're an extremely pleasent exception if you realise that 'good' isn't the default setting of all people. You treat good people much better if you realise they aren't made to be that way ;)

It's just as naive to think people are inherently 'bad'. Where does your standard come from? The same people you suppose to be inherently flawed? Yeah? Yeah.

People are people. Anyone who tries to simplify the matter are lying to you because they have lied to themselves first.

So I hate public bathrooms because there is poo and piss all over the place.

I know a person who just told me that someone accidentally splashed pee on their foot. I laughed at said person and felt sorry for them.

So people are inherently bad. :D

She really deserved it. Better that she learns now not to trust people utterly and wholly with her worldly possessions, rather than perhaps trusting them with her life someday.

Better for her, I mean. Not for the rest of us.
