Fuuuuuuu. That is rife in Brisbane. Everywhere now :wtf:
I do the same, just say "No, not today, thanks" and keep going. I've said a few times that "Sorry, I don't do spam" and get a lol or two from them.
Being in Bris, have you had the guys come knocking on your door yet, for the electric/gas retailers? AGL etc? Total pricks. Had one guy that spoke to my fiance while I was out, and he wouldn't leave when she said "No, not interested". He told her she couldn't make any decision "Without your husband at home, because you don't pay the bills" :wtf:
Edit: Ugh, people. |
Oh man what a fag. I just say "no no I'm cool" or just say "hi" back like that's all they were gonna say.
But I hate it. I just don't want to be nasty and they practically force you to. |

here's a good one - happened a little over a year ago but i'll never forget it:
i was up in san fran for a party with some other TAs and late night after the show we all got some food. heading back to the hotel around 6:45 or so we're accosted by a 'homeless' person soliciting donations. one of the TAs, being the nice guy that he is, gave him a few singles. Within 20 seconds of accepting the cash the bastard takes out his blackberry and continues a conversation, nonchalantly walking away from us.
ugh... |

Nice, lol.
I had a friend that I worked with at a pub in London, ten years or so ago. He could play the ukulele really well. On his days off, he'd go and set up at one of the busier tube stations, with a busted ghetto blanket, unshaven, and pretend he was homeless. He'd make between 100 and 200 pounds a day in change from people. He got chased off a lot from a few of the other hustlers though (and beaten up a couple of times). |

At lunch, I went to Wendy's, and there's a little intersection in the parking lot.
me coming from the main road, doesn't have to stop...but when i get there, the 'intersection' is full of cars where there is a stop.
eventually (all the while when i have right of way)this woman starts honking her horn at this other guy and waits for him to get by, and proceeds to the other side. THE WHOLE TIME...I had right of way. . but i just watched in amazement as all these people ed up all at once. |

| People blaming you for something that you did not do - despite obvious evidence to the contrary  I can handle people being mad at me for something I have done but if I haven't done anything and they are just arseholes...that really grinds my gears. |

Oh man, that reminds me of one of the best things I have ever seen.
Traffic jam on Victoria bridge, here in Bris. We were right in the middle of the bridge at the time. There had just been a accident at the intersection, inbound, and all traffic had stopped.
I was shotgun in my friend's car, and the chick in the car in front of us had her hand on the horn constantly, for 20 mins or so (like that's going to make the traffic move). The guy in front of her eventually got the s.
He stepped out of his car, walked back to hers, pulled the keys right from the ignition, and tossed them off the side into the Brisbane River. Calmly walked back to his car.
We were in absolute histerics. |

Holy like a boss.
The funny thing though is she could still use the horn. |

That's what my friend said. "I guess she stopped using the horn"
She never made a peep though, she just sat there. Everyone had to hit the curb to go around her when the traffic started moving :stongue: |
