a) Either tailoring your argument to suit your main point by only citing negative examples
b) Are close minded and have only heard of India through the likes of Glenn Beck and co.
c) Visited India last during the 80's
I can go ahead and say, why do people love the bay area when Oakland, one of the most dangerous cities in the world is based there or why do people love New York City when Harlem and the Bronx are located there - The answer is that, smart people stay away from dangerous and undesirable places; moreover, most people who choose to venture into such locations go there with the intention of making a difference i.e. bettering the lives of people living over there.
India is a fantastic country, rife with both heritage as well as with western culture. We have come a long way since the proliferation of multinational companies that has given rise to a workforce pretty rife with people having a modern outlook that , for the most part, is pretty compatible with most western cultures, especially those that speak English. Yes, we do have many cities that are still very traditional and not fully aware or accepting of western practices but metropllitan cities such as New Delhi, Bombay etc. have come a long way over the past decade.
Granted our infrastructure isn't as modernized as say the US or most European countries but most people today are well aware of that and don't consider the same to be a deal breaker when picking a country to travel too.
Plus we have awesome food, hot women (New Delhi is having it's own slutwalk next month before you say Indian women are too conservative and don't put out) and creme de la creme drugs. Basically, India has something of interest for everyone - be it hippies, touristy folk, businessmen etc.
I could go on citing more examples to prove your point wrong but this is the COR and no one will read it :toocool:
Every country in the world has it's negative's but you research them so that you stay away from them.

Oh, he's from Algeria, complaining about how dangerous India is? Who's ever heard of Algeria? I'm sure it's quite dangerous.
One might go there and get bored to death. [/AMERICAN_TOURIST=UGLY]

my parents are indian and iv been there more times than i can remember, theres nothing i get a kick out of more by having white people ask me where im from and tell me how much they want to go to india lol
i think people are fascinated because its the center of hinduism and a very spritually rich country that doesn't impose ideology as much as other worldviews (tho they still do very much in their own way, you don't see it as much as a foreigner)
hinduism itself is a very open religion and most followers consider it a personal spirituality and lifestyle as opposed to abrahamic religions which seem to be more doctrine based. there is a lot of hindu, muslim, buddhist and secular history there that people love to see, and since india is pretty much the only major hindu country, it has a unique flavor to it.
plus the food is amazing

I only love it because of Goa. And the landscape. And some certain buildings. And their traditional music. And the cuisine. And Chinajeevi(that movie guy). And the history. And the cultural heritage I'd kill for.
Apart from that, it's pretty meh.

India is actually either 5th or 4th dangerous countries for women to live in the world.

Westerners love India? I never get the impression that westerners love India. Perhaps it's more prevalent in Europe?
At least in the US, the "Asian nation everyone loves" award goes to Japan.
