i disagree, i'd be more excited to see him lets say 2-3years ago. Noawadays he's gone the commercial route with his cadenza label and i haven't heard a lot of interesting stuff from him since his tribute to the sun cd. When i saw him in detroit he played a lot of generic techhouse.. maybe because of loco dice but we'll see..

Commercial releases on his label(s) is something I do not really see. Commercially successful releases (partly because he does a pretty good job with A&R) for a few of the packages because they are quality and deserve the hype, perhaps. I think that there is a difference between the two.

Take a look at the stable of artists he has on his roster ...

http://cadenzabooking.com/artists.php

It's not exactly a list of cheesey djs & producers, and he pushes the little guys at his gigs and his residencies, through his labels etc

He has created a pretty big brand in Cadenza (one that is starting to rival the likes of Cocoon + Minus) and had big commercial success as a result of it but I don't think you can say that he has sold out on his roots. At the end of the day if you go to a show of his yeah you will prob hear some cheeky sampling (which can be fun at times) but for the most part you are still hearing upfront/unreleased dancefloor friendly house and techno. The chin-stroking aspect to his sets seems to have been removed, which works perfectly for me.

IMO anyways ...

Just caught him in Ibiza at one of the Cadenza parties. He was the closer and was playing some pretty wicked techno, no generic tech house.

It's not commercial, but if you look at what the label was putting out until about 2 years ago, and everything after that (I blame La Mezcla, lol) you see a big difference.

And that's not to say that I don't still enjoy a Cadenza release every now and then, but I don't get as excited as I used to. Also the artwork is nowhere near as nice IMO.

Anyway I'm sure he's still a great DJ, not doubting that. And I'll still go see him when he comes by.

Goddamn. Even just Luciano for Halloween is pretty damn exciting. I can't wait to see the rest of the line-up.

Yes, he does play a bit of cheese these days, but I've seen this guy rip dance floors just as good as the rest of them. Seeing him at his Cadenza showcase in Madrid in 2008 was one of the best parties I've ever been to. Also:
